Love & Theft is a German surrealist adult animated short film created and animated by German animator Andreas Hykade, produced by German animation studio Film Bilder, with music and sounds by German musician and composer Heiko Maile. Released in 2010, it is named after the 2001 Bob Dylan album of the same name, which has been a part of Hykade's childhood. However, unlike the album itself, it was released 10 years later, and it's also entirely different. It also has two screamers, and it surprisingly gained a cult following online like Hykade's other films.

The film begins with a white background, and on screen, animated text in Hykade's font appears, and there's only three of them. One of Film Bilder presenting it, one of the film's title, and finally, one of Hykade being the film's creator. Three of them are all accompanied by soft music, and after the last one, the white background goes still, lasting for two seconds. After two seconds, an oval appears, growing by itself until it pops like a bubble, accompanied by what sounded like a bit of static. The oval reappears, doing it again, albeit with eyes. Soft music's heard in the background as the oval with eyes keeps doing this over and over again while briefly having a large frowny mouth reminiscent of the Aaugh! pose from Peanuts. After a while, the music changes to what sounded like cartoonish music. At the 0:51 mark, the oval stops doing it and starts morphing into the faces of various random characters, including cartoon characters, animators, historical figures, religious symbols, and many others. They include:
* A deformed Mickey Mouse caricature with bat-like ears, a long mouth and fly-like eyes.
* Adolf Hitler.
* Two of the oval's altered forms from the prologue.

Colored in black and white, three by three of those faces form groups where they morph into each other, accompanied by any type of music or sound, including an electric guitar, a music box, maracas, a dog's barks, and more. In fact, the oval seems to be the first face of the whole situation. All these 12 groups appear one by one, each morphing for four times, and after the last one, it goes again, now with each two of the 12 groups merged together to make a six-group as the faces are shown to get closer while more music plays. After that, the music speed gets faster, with more music playing as all the 12 groups merge together into a 12-group, with the faces now much closer. Suddenly, the oval with black oval splits into two deformed Mickey heads, now with angry-looking eyes, as they morph into a Mickey Mouse-Adolf Hitler hybrid with fangs and the bulldog. The two bulldog heads then merge to morph into a three-eyed deformed Betty Boop head as it morphs into Karl Marx, Bill Plympton, Joker, Koko, Bert, Gromit, and Spider-Man (now with polka dots on his face), with all of them looking angry as well. Spider-Man then quickly morphs into SpongeBob, Che, Ade, Mao, Tweety, the Goofy lookalike, Pink Panther, Hitler, Yin-Yang (now with eyes instead of its dots), Hello Kitty, Charlie Brown, and the oval, with all of them having frowns and their eyes closed in an angry way, with Kitty, Charlie and the oval being entirely black. Accompanying this was a loud deep boom overlapped with dramatic music as the faces shrink. After that, the oval suddenly morphs into a blue-colored, sharp-toothed, altered version of what could be the Goofy lookalike, with his eyes (now yellow and bloodshot) popping out, accompanied by an ominous dramatic boom. As it progressed, the eyes multiply and disappear and the Goofy lookalike morphs into Charlie Brown screaming with his hair flying away, still blue, while different music plays after Charlie morphs back into the oval as his hair morphs into the Illuminati and disappears.

The faces reappear, now much closer and separated into six-groups again due to each six of them interrupted by a colorized animation of what will happen next, with a few more characters introduced, including what looks like Venom, Donald Duck and Pluto. After that, because of this, the background changes to yellow, and the colors become blue (with red briefly appearing), starting a trippy sequence with more different music, which is accompanying the colorized animations from earlier. Also, most character faces have been altered in a sinister way due to the scene, with Hello Kitty resembling Thomas the Tank Engine's memetic shocked face with fangs and her tongue sticking out, most character faces having frowns, the monster having two eyes, Tweety being eyeless, and Droopy being mouthless. Also, three more characters are introduced, including Feathers McGraw from The Wrong Trousers, Ruth Lingford and Barbapapa. The animations shown include spinning heads, having a blown out brain, vomiting Venom's body, unmasking another by itself, and more. Suddenly, after that sequence, we get to meet a screamer, which is a different depiction of the Mickey-Hitler hybrid screaming loudly while slowly morphing into a face with bulging blue eyes, Joker's mouth and Gromit's ears and nose, with the background slowly changing from red to orange-yellow. Disturbing music plays as the screamer morphs into Spider-Man with a huge body with muscles, slowly unzooming to have his body morph into the bulldog, also having a visible body with nipples. After that, the music changes to a different one as the camera unzooms every time to see a different character with a naked body evolved from the body of the previous one, going from Marx to Ruth, followed by Venom, the monster, Betty, Plympton, Ade, the dancer, the titular character of Jim Woodring's Frank (who briefly appears and is never seen again), Hitler, and the oval.

After the oval, his body suddenly morphs and splits into two giant Betty Boops, each with blue eyes and a dog-like snout. They then morph into SpongeBob, followed by Marx as their tongues appear, touching each other. As the tongues progressed, the two Marxs morph into Plympton, the doll (both now with dark-blue wavy hair), Spider-Man, Mickey, Mao, Che, Donald, and Ade, showing us a graphic depiction of a French kiss. Also, the heads fly away from the bodies, leaving disembodied. Beautiful music plays, briefly followed by a duck quacking three times. Suddenly, the two Ade heads morphs into Plympton again, now with bloodshot eyes, blue sclera and a screaming mouth. The tongues are now tied together as the Plympton heads began disfiguring with their eyes shut, accompanied by more dramatic music. During this, the tongues are connected by what look like rotund blobs with single eyes as they all quickly mix together to make a brain with a shocked face. Rock music plays as the brain begins morphing into deformed versions of most character faces, doing it in three different ways while morphing twice. After that, the brain reappears, now with Koko's hat and ears, resembling a Smurf. This is where another screamer appears, where the camera zooms into its eyes as the music extends, zooming to Karl Marx mixed with Pink Panther, an altered Ruth Lingford, the dancer with the penis' top, a cyclops with Betty Boop's head shape, a semi-realistic row of teeth, Bert with Che Guevara's hat, "mouth" and beard, Betty Boop mixed with The Joker, the Mickey-Hitler hybrid from earlier, SpongeBob with fangs and the girl's eyes, Ade with Mickey Mouse's ears, Donald Duck with Mao Zedong's eyes and hair, the brain's eyes, and an altered Illuminati with a yellow-and-red eye. After the camera zooms into its pupil, the screen cuts to black as the music stops, ending the screamer. In the background, animations with a light-blue outline of Ryan Larkin, bubbles, Edvard Munch's The Scream, nudity, and others appear, accompanied by soft music. After this sequence, we get to meet a peaceful, yellow-and-brown scene of various surreal situations, with new characters appearing, such as Chris Robinson, a lot of American singers (including Elvis Presley) and most of Hykade's characters, including Tom from Tom and the Slice of Bread with Strawberry Jam and Honey. The film ends with a yellow version of the oval shrinking and closing his eyes, followed by the credits rolling, also in Hykade's font, accompanied by quiet static.

Trivia
* This is the only time Andreas Hykade made a film about screamers.
* Due to having a cult following online, many people started making parodies or versions out of it with either the same footage or different or more characters, such as a 2012 version by Japanese YouTuber pamaso featuring characters from Japanese media.
* The second screamer might predict the bootlegged toons from Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers when it comes to mixing cartoon characters with others.
* It is considered both trippy and scary.
* In 2009, one year before the film itself, Brazilian animation festival Anima Mundi collaborated with Andreas Hykade to create Anima Mundi 2009, which not only features all the faces from the film, but also a few absent ones like Batman, Popeye, Bugs Bunny, Jiminy Cricket, Wallace, Daffy Duck, Felix the Cat, Shrek, Bambi, Bob Dylan, Snowy, and more. Also, it's revealed that Hykade named the penis Federico Martín. It also had a trailer with the film's footage.
* The film's footage was later used for Banksy's Dismaland, albeit playing three times and displayed on a paper in a digital screen.

* Charlie Brown.
* Hello Kitty.
* Mickey Mouse.
* A one-eyed monster (possibly Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc.).
* One of the gaunt puppets from the 1986 British horror stop-motion short film Street of Crocodiles.
* A Phil Mulloy character (presumably one from the Intolerance series, that being the main character in the second and third films known as Ade).
* The Illuminati (which is actually the All-Seeing Eye symbol, which is associated with it).
* Yin-Yang.
* A deformed Mickey Mouse caricature with bat-like ears, a long mouth and fly-like eyes.
* Adolf Hitler.

* Adolf Hitler.

Adult Swim: The Heart, She Holler Promos was a screamer that occurred on Adult Swim in August 2013.

From late August 2013 until mid-September 2013, Adult Swim ran a series of strange promos for the American horror comedy series The Heart, She Holler, in which one of the main characters (Meemaw) would randomly appear during promos for other shows, such as Family Guy and The Cleveland Show.

At first, this does not sound bad, but how these promos worked is during late-night shows, during the ad breaks, there was a chance Meemaw would randomly pop up screaming. These were very unpredictable; for example, Adult Swim might show a bumper promo for American Dad!, only to have it interrupted by Meemaw screaming for a few seconds before resuming the interrupted promo.

Controversy
Additionally, the screamers confused and angered many people. Many posts were made to the r/AdultSwim subreddit in which many users expressed their anger at Adult Swim's choice to air these terrifying bumpers. The bumpers were taken down when She Holler aired.
Poochee and Pansy is an ARG-related web series that focuses on two puppies that are from Puppy Hill trying to save a cat from an evil witch. The premiere episode, uploaded to YouTube in 2009, contains a screamer. However, this is only the beginning of what the series becomes. The series includes a plethora of disturbing imagery and eerie footage. The series consists of only seven episodes. In late 2014, episode 2 of Poochee and Pansy was deleted by YouTube moderators for unknown reasons and was restored five years later. The creator appealed to restore the original upload, but the appeal was rejected.

According to Eric B. Wise (ScareTheater), the series was created to recruit viewers for an alternate reality game called: "Hunt for the Gangadiddle". This game was spread around 4chan on a relatively unknown date to recruit users to uncover the mystery of Gangadiddle. (See the "Trivia" section below for more information.) The series itself has a website.

Episodes
The series consists of the following episodes:
Episode 1: The Quest for the Midnight Crown
In the first episode, a narrator introduces our eponymous puppy characters and mentions that one day Poochee urgently needed to tell something to Pansy. He tells her about a strange dream he had, which involves a kitten being locked up by an evil witch. She had the same dream, so Poochee concludes that because of this, the dream must be a dream message directed at them. They prepare to venture to Sufferdark, where they come across Batwing Cave, which they must go through to reach Sufferdark. A firefly named Freddy appears and tries to lead them through the cave, however, he is interrupted by a rotten skull with one eye along with a loud distorted scream. The video used to have an annotation warning the viewers about the screamer. In 2019, the video was remastered; it is largely the same as the original, but the screamer was removed, allowing Freddy to finish his line.

Episode 2: Danger In The Dark! ($ £Wv$ER&8765435 w%4%^$£%@£@)
In the second episode of the series, the audience is greeted with a glitched title card that briefly displays an image of Binzo Tsujii from The Souichi Front. The episode features Poochee and Pansy missing their respective facial features of eyes and mouth, and Poochee repeating a line from the previous episode. The audio and visuals distort before cutting to footage of a person exploring a dark room and encountering ordinary household items. The Huntmaster appears at the end of the episode, reaching for the camera.

The original episode was taken down in 2014 for unknown reasons, but it was later reposted, and a remastered version was released in 2021. The remastered version shows Poochee and Pansy being led into a cave by Freddy, only to discover that he is a fake rockbat. They flee and get lost in the darkness, but soon find the real Freddy, injured from a rockbat attack. Despite their intention to help him, Freddy tells them to escape as more rockbats appear. The screen fades to black after Poochee moans in pain. The scene then shifts to Poochee waking up in a witch's lair, discovering that he and Pansy were knocked out by the rockbat's venom. He realizes that Pansy is missing and calls out for her, ending the episode.

Episode 3: The Witch's Bargain
.
The selected episode of the series begins with the title card displaying a momentary spooky transformation, with the text turning black, the sky turning red, and an ominous piano piece playing, before returning to normal. The narrator informs the viewers that Poochee and Pansy have reached Sufferdark to confront the witch, while a Huntmaster cartoon briefly appears in the background with visual distortion. In the witch's lair, Poochee searches for Pansy, who is hanging in a cage over a vat of green liquid. The witch offers a deal: she will release Pansy if Poochee lets her take his eyes. Despite Pansy's disapproval, Poochee agrees, as he can't think of any other way to rescue her. As the witch's hand inches closer to Poochee's face, the video cuts to footage of a fan running, a close-up of the witch, a phone off its hook beeping, and a doll's face with one eye bulging and a girl crying. The video concludes with a sinister title background and the message: "You are alone but you do not know it."

A remastered version of the episode was released in 2022, in which the witch's appearance was redesigned to resemble The Cryptkeeper. When the witch's hand approaches Poochee's face, Pansy screams "No!" and the video cuts to black with a squishing noise. When the video resumes, Poochee screams in pain as the witch takes his right eye, while Pansy's cries create a soundwave that intensifies in volume and surrounds the cage. The episode ends at this point.

Episode 4: The Witch's Eye (ぷちとパンジー。第4章。魔女の目)
The episode begins with a Japanese title card (which translates to "The Witch's Eye"), with English subtitles appearing shortly after. The title card is distorted several times, creating a creepy atmosphere. The Japanese narrator informs the viewer that Poochee and Pansy have already defeated the witch and are on a mission to save a kitten, but two flashes of the eyeless witch with a scream in the background hint at the dark turn the episode takes. Poochee and Pansy are seen standing in front of a locked door, which Poochee claims is where the kitten is being held. He reveals that he's wearing the witch's eye over his own, which allows him to see through the door. However, the shot of the door distorts, and the text "Cannot hide" briefly appears, foreshadowing the disturbing events to follow. The video then cuts to footage of icicles, accompanied by a low-pitched beeping sound, followed by a shot of someone walking in the snow. They discover the text "Find You" written in the snow, which transforms into a white animated picture slowly turning red. The image then returns to live-action, and we see The Huntmaster reaching for the screen, followed by a close-up of the icicles. On a black background, red text appears, reading "Everyone in your world is dead but you. Only you exist." The video ends with a flash of the white text "FIND YOU."

A remastered version of the episode was released in 2024, in which Pansy's soundwaves freezes the witch to allow Poochee to attack her. The witch loses an eye that slithers its way into the empty socket of Poochee. The episode ends with Poochee and Pansy standing in front of the locked door as before.

Episode 5: (Unnamed)
The video begins with The Huntmaster addressing the viewer, warning them that they "cannot hide." After a glitchy title screen, a series of unsettling images are shown, including a cowering man, a dog with sharp teeth and black eyes, and footage of the house from a previous episode. The episode title is obscured by a black censor panel. More disturbing images follow, including Smile Dog, Binzo Tsujii, and the witch with no eyes from the previous episode. The Huntmaster reappears, and his body flails wildly accompanied by loud distortion noises. The episode proper begins with two yellow eyes in a dark doorway, which Poochee identifies as the kitten they have been searching for. The animals stare at each other for an extended period before the scene cuts to a montage of random and unsettling clips, including an evil Poochee, the skull screamer, and footage from the Disney short, The Story of Menstruation. The title screen appears again, featuring a stylized "G." The "Menstruation" footage returns, with the girl's reflection coming to life and smiling at the screen. The scene zooms in on the reflection as the girl's smile becomes more menacing, and a loud roar is heard. The scene then cuts to inside the house, where the message "All dead" is written in blood red on the wall near some pictures. We then see someone walking in the woods and entering an area with many tree stumps, which is compared to a cartoon forest drawing. Poochee warns the viewer that what is on TV is real, and everything else is make-believe. The "Menstruation" girl's face appears again with a loud scream from the first episode, followed by the full version of the first line: "You cannot hide from the truth." The video ends with the stylized "G" from earlier appearing once more.

Episode 6: Message from the Gangadiddle (Message from the Gxx%$£^$)
In this episode, the spotlight is on a spine-tingling chapter of an alternate reality game that revolves around the enigmatic creature, Gangadiddle. The video starts with eerie audio and visuals of a swaying object before the title emerges with glitches and distorted narration and music. Although the episode's heading is partly hidden, eagle-eyed viewers can make out "Gangadiddle", the name of the creature. The episode proceeds with Poochee, Pansy, and the kitten at their home, where Poochee reads a scroll that appears suddenly. However, before he can identify the sender, the footage shifts to an illustration of the creature, which promptly distorts. Next, a live-action figure of the Gangadiddle appears on a table, followed by a jack-in-the-box with a panda's face that plays "Brahms Lullaby" and then emits a scream. The house is also scanned, and during this sequence, shots of the skull screamer and the doll from previous episodes are shown. The Huntmaster emerges on the screen, extending his hand towards the viewer, followed by a montage of disturbing clips from past episodes. The video concludes with the message, "You must find it to become free!" The suspenseful and enigmatic ambiance of this episode, as well as its connection to the larger ARG, distinguishes it as a noteworthy installment in the series.

Episode 7: Rxxx 6 Cxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Pxxxxxxxx
In this episode, the video opens with the usual title screen, which then fades away to reveal the episode title, "Part 7", with a man's face covering the rest of the text. Poochee, Pansy, and the kitten are then seen on the screen, smiling cutely to the sound of calming piano music. However, this peaceful scene is interrupted by a detailed shot of the kitten's head on a flashing background, accompanied by a loud feline screech. The episode then cuts to a computer processing data before returning to the trio, but this time the sky is dark, and Pansy and the kitten are missing their faces, while Poochee's eyes are gone. He repeats the cryptic message he delivered in the fifth episode. The video then cuts to footage of someone walking through their backyard, with eerie sounds and a shot of a worm crawling on the person's arm. The episode ends with the foreboding title screen displaying the text "David's mind traverses many parallels. His memories will help you." The screen then displays the code XRZ 9hOUIFec, followed by a flash of the letter G, signifying the end of the series.
Special Announcement
The video opens with the Dolst Family Entertainment logo and a message from the characters Poochee, Pansy, and the witch, reassuring viewers that what is shown on TV is not real and that they should not be afraid. However, the video then distorts and the characters transform into sinister forms: Poochee and Pansy become demon dogs, while the witch becomes The Huntmaster. The viewer is then bombarded with a series of bizarre images, including the doll head, the witch, the text "You are alone," birds flying by cars, the skull screamer, the house footage tinted red, and the repeated phrase "Trying to reach you." A voice is heard reciting a quote from the classic horror film Night of the Living Dead, describing a mass extinction event in Earth's history and murder victims being devoured by their killers. The video then cuts to footage of someone walking through a hospital hallway, with the title screen appearing just as the person reaches the doors. The "All dead" text flashes briefly before the video abruptly ends, leaving the viewer with a sense of unease and uncertainty.

However, this peaceful scene is interrupted by a detailed shot of the kitten's head on a flashing background, accompanied by a loud feline screetch.

Little Jerry and the Closet is the second installment of the Jerry series by Max “HotDiggedyDemon” Gilardi. The series mainly focuses on Jerry Jhonson, who is a poor middle-aged man (sometimes still a kid) who has to deal with social problems, while working in a shop. His father Jason Jhonson verbally abused Jerry when growing up, and his mom died after an accident involving lightning.

The video starts with Jason Jhonson reading the entire story of The Shining, then tells him not to open a closet near him, which he calls "The Closet of Unimaginable Psychological Torment". Little Jerry's father tells him that the last person who entered there died and went to hell. As Little Jerry tries to sleep, he constantly hears noises from the closet. Scared, he tiptoes to the closet while dramatic string music plays (which is actually from the APM Music track “Dramatic Cue (d)”, which has played in shows like SpongeBob SquarePants and Ren and Stimpy) and slowly opens the closet, only to reveal that there's nothing.

But as soon as the viewer expects nothing, a swift flurry of screamer faces pops up over a violent string screech (which is actually from the APM Music track “Drama Link (f)”, which also played in shows like SpongeBob SquarePants and Ren and Stimpy).
He then quickly shuts the closet, frightened to the point where his hair turns white. Then he opens the closet again, and shuts the closet, repeating the same action over and over. His dad angrily asks, "What's all the racket in there?!". Little Jerry runs to his bed, as Jason notices that his hair is white, assuming he dyed his hair, then scolds him for that, and shuts the door. After that, the credits roll while the song Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett plays in the background before the video ends.

* The screamer flurry could count as flashing lights since the screamer is so fast.
* In the video "Junior" (the 4th installment of Jerry), the closet is referenced.

SCP-450 was a screamer video uploaded to YouTube by a user nu11 (originally Andreyj857) on December 4, 2010. The title is a reference to the SCP Foundation. More specifically, as the title suggests, SCP-450 isn't related to the information about the picture of the hallway used in the video. The creator also made BИD of Doom and ВИD in Hell.

This video begins with a warning message that the materials in the video may damage one's health and watch at their own risk. After that message, a dark-brown hallway (identified to be Eastern State Penitentiary's Cellblock 14) is shown with eerie sounds and music in the background.

After around 50 seconds, a picture of an adorable kitten accompanied by a meow pops up, and afterward, the credits start. The following line is shown: "THANKS FOR WATCHING! prepare to shit brix >;3". After this line appears from the bottom, a flurry of screamer faces both well-known and lesser-known will appear and zoom to the viewer in a fast slideshow fashion with accompanying screams. The screamer faces include:

* A close-up image of Regan MacNeil from <i>The Exorcist</i>.
* A close-up of a man's face with red and white paint around his face, eyes and mouth.
* El Ayuwoki.
* Pazuzu.
* The Tic-Tac-Toe zombie.
* Ahenobarbus Henocied.
* The Gunther from the 1981 slasher film <i>The Funhouse</i>.
* A sad-looking girl with pitch-black eyes and an open mouth.
* The What's Wrong face.
* Katie Embry.
* The <i>Fatal Frame</i> ghost.
* The Sajjad Ali banshee.
* Smile Dog.
* Method Man with the mouth of a cookie-cutter shark.

One second later, Jeff the Killer appears while a short clip of the song I Shot The Sheriff by the late Bob Marley plays. After that, Regan MacNeil pops up again while the face zooms up and seemingly "headbutts" the screen.

It had over 140,000 views as of November 2014, but the video has now been deleted. There are still saved copies of it.
