This is a quick guide on where you should release your screamer and what types you should post.

==4chan==

Posting screamers is against global rule 3 on 4chan.

===/b/ and /trash/===
You will NOT be banned from 4chan if you post screamers on these two boards since global rule 3 is not in effect on this board.
*It's probably best to look for YLYL or REKT threads and post there.

[[:Category:GIFs|GIFs]] are the best type of screamer to post on this board since most boards do not allow videos with sound and boards do not allow YouTube embeds.

===/f/===
/f/ is a good, but small, board to troll people on when posting a flash screamer.

===/gif/ and /wsg/===
/wsg/ is a good board to troll people on for videos (since sound is allowed).

==BitChute==

Note that it takes a long while for your channel to actually show up on BitChute's homepage when sorting by new, so wait a few weeks before posting anything on a new channel.

Don't use BitChute for anything since they are worse than YouTube now when it comes to banning people.

==Facebook==
Go on, scare some old people!
==Instagram==
Instagram is a great site to scare people with (as long as your post does not get deleted).

The best way to get people is if you have a moderate following (such as a public spam or shitposting account). You can then just rip a video from YouTube and put it Instagram.

The downside to using Instagram is that people outside of the app will not be able to search for your screamer.

==Reddit==
Posting a screamer is very simple on Reddit since all you need to do is find a subreddit related to your screamer and post it there.

If the subreddit you're posting on is not screamer nor horror related (and you are not disclosing that the video has a jumpscare), you WILL get downvoted to 0 and likely your post deleted and account banned, however, since many sort by new on Reddit, plenty of people will watch your screamer.

==TikTok==
On TikTok, you can easily rip a short YouTube video and put it on the site.

If you have a small profile and a following (and are not scared to show your face), you can make a video similar to [[TW-Jumpscare]] or [[Impossible Backflip]], which will likely garner more views than just ripping a YouTube video.

Then put as many hashtags as possible into the description.

Regardless of what you do, this should garner at least a handful of views.

The downside of a TikTok screamer is that there is no way to post a title, which makes it harder to find in the traditional sense.

==Twitter and Similar Alternatives==
On Twitter, simply post a video with a ton of hashtags related to your video then check your engagement.

You can also spam comments of related posts with your screamer. All will get engagement.

Doing this may result in your account being shadowbanned or banned for spam.
==Your own website==

It is incredibly hard to make a screamer website today and get people fooled via Google.

Google's search engine promotes larger site way before it ever shows your site. You can always use black-hat methods such as keyword stuffing but that may lead to your site being completely deranged by google.

When selecting a domain, see what you want to fool people with. For example, if you want to fool someone that is mistyping a website (for example, Roblox.com). You might search for a domain like rolbolox.co (which is available). An example of a domain was cybersquatted and turned into a screamer was [[Agor.io]].
NOTE that cybersquatting is illegal

Once you found a domain, work on the content of the website. In times past, you could just put a .swf screamer in there and call it a day. You also cannot just simply put an autoplay video in there, since modern web browsers do not allow autoplay if a video is not muted.

To get around this you can just borrow the source code of [[Kekma.net]], which attempts to get around this roadblock.

To spread your website, you can just spam it everywhere lel.

The other thing to note about your own website (unless you're using neocities) is that you have to pay for it. Some domains give you a promotional price of $1 for the first year but then the price normally goes up to $20 a year. .com is the cheapest domain for year to year and some registrars allow you to outright purchase a domain permanently for $400.
You also usually have to pay for hosting. Namecheap has cheap promo hosting (#notsponsored) for $1.18 a month.

Also if your domain becomes popular, you may be stuck with paying for the site for your life, unless you want a cybersquatter to purchase the domain and turn it into FREE $1000 WALMART GIFT CARD WITH FREE IPHONE AND PS5 {{CurrentYear}} LEGIT NO SCAM NO VIRUS.

I know this because I'm making sure to pay for at least [https://screamer.wiki two] [https://screamerfanbase.com domains] for the rest of my life.

==YouTube==

YouTube is a HUGE video platform (that should not be a surprise).

Make sure you know what community you are attempting to target when creating a screamer here.

For example, if you are attempting to release a video for the piracy community on the platform, download the first portion of the movie (maybe the first minute) then put the screamer in and leave the rest of the video as a black screen for the rest of the movie's normal runtime. An example of this is [[Wonder Woman 1984 Full Movie (Leaked)]], which gained 1k views before being deleted by YouTube.

You can always upload a "scary pop up" or "stare into the screen" but these are not as effective anymore since the YouTube algorithm will likely not push these videos unless you are actually looking for screamers.

When uploading your video, make sure to fill out as many tags for the video as possible as they will help your video be seen in search.

You can tell how effective your screamer is by the like to dislike ratio.
A screamer video with a ton of likes is probably because people know that the video is a screamer.

A screamer video with a ton of dislikes usually means you baited a ton of people that did not know the video is a screamer.

YouTube, however, has been banning certain screamer videos as misleading so keep that in mind.

FANDOM has shipped an update to how communities work. For new users, the homepage now redirects to Discussions, which has a completely different theme than the rest of the wiki.

I was tweaking around with the theme designer to see how the wiki would look if mirroring discussions, and have posted this below.

Of course, I will not take any action without feedback from other admins, mods, and bureaucrats, but I would like to know what our users think about the possible theme change.
