'''LOAIZA''' is a [[screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by ''Alpagicuget999'' on February 18th, 2025.

The video starts with a blue and white text card stating that the following pictures contain subliminal stuff, and the viewer's goal is to find what's wrong. At the 14 second mark, a montage of pictures of Spanish places would appear, accompanied by the song [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8tRDv9fZ_c Everything You Know Is Wrong] by [[wikipedia:"Weird_Al"_Yankovic|"Weird Al" Yankovic]]. Everything seems normal at first, showing pictures of a Hardware store, Green Lady, a refrigeration store, a cold cutting store, a barber shop, etc. However, once it reaches a real estate office, a picture of a aggresive cat with flames surrounding it appears with a loud screech 3 seconds later. After the screamer, rolling credits are displayed while the song [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP9t2Iq_zQ8 You Shook Me All Night Long] by [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC/DC AC/DC] plays in the background.
'''Doom Screamer''' is a [[screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by ''KannonBlitz85'' on June 2nd, 2025. The video, like [[Subliminal Message in Celtic Frost's "Into The Crypts of Rays"]], poses as a reupload from a YouTube channel named PConnors90, this time from December 2005.

This video starts with a commercial for Doom 2 on PC, but then, after the computer devours the man and before it shows the game's logo, the skull from the Sega Saturn version of Doom's box art appears with a loud scream. Credits then roll, with Exciter's Heavy Metal Maniac, the title track from their 1983 debut album playing in the background.

The viewer is prompted to find something wrong behind the dinosaur skull in the video. they are also instructed to search very closely in order to find it quickly. After a while, the image shifts closer with the same scream from [[What's Wrong?]], and the video concludes with the message stating that the viewer got pranked.

Sadly, the video got deleted due to the creator being terminated for their channel getting hacked in 2022, but it was reuploaded on November 8, 2025.
'''1993 F.H.E. logo in G-Major''' was a [[screamer]] video made by [[YouTube]] user Patch93 (Joshua Schaferhund) on September 25, 2009. As of 2017, the video is now private, but there are still copies of it.

The video begins with a G-Major version of the 1991 ''Family Home Entertainment'' logo with warp and distorted effects applied to it, and the video freezes when the logo is complete. However, after 14 seconds, a spinning picture of a clown mask pops up along with the same scream from [[Hey Arnold Subliminal Message Laughing Grandpa]], also in G-Major.
'''The Paramount Home Video Feature Presentation logo made over 10,000 more times scarier!''' was a [[screamer]] video uploaded on October 16, 2009 by [[YouTube]] user Patch93 (Joshua Schaferhund). Prior to the video being privatized, the video itself became his most watched video and has gotten 300,000 views as of 2014.

The video starts with the Viacom version of the Paramount Feature Presentation logo, which was used from May 17, 1989 until December 27, 2008, in Patch93's version of the G-Major effect, but as the "FEATURE PRESENTATION" text zooms in towards the screen, a purple, dark blue and maroon picture of a woman's creepy face pops up accompanied with<nowiki> </nowiki>the same scream sound effect used in the [[K-fee commercials]], and the picture cuts to black after a few seconds. When the warning screen fades in, we hear a creepy sinister voice that whispers "K-fee..." two times, while a heartbeat sound effect is heard before the warning screen fades to black, ending the video.

Although the video is now set to private as of 2017, along with [[WGBH Boston Logo In G Major|Patch93's]] [[1993 F.H.E. logo in G-Major|G-Major]] videos, multiple copies of the screamer can still be found on YouTube.
'''Subliminal Screamer''' is a [[screamer]] video, uploaded to [[YouTube]] on June 12, 2006, by Log Bog (Shadow Fuckface), and November 26, 2006, by VenerableDread.

The video starts with Swensen's commercial, where pink ice cream can be seen being put on a cone (the scoop mark resembles a woman's figure, hence the "''sexy''" ice cream message). When another scoop of ice cream is about to be served, the same mouse from Liquid Generation's [[Optical Illusions (Liquid Generation)|Optical Illusion]] sabotage suddenly appears on a beach background along with a piercing scream. After that, a message reading "Oops, hehe." appears, ending the video.

VenerableDread's version (under the name ''Sexy Ice Cream Message!'') has the mouse replaced with a space marine from ''[[wikipedia:Warhammer 40,000|Warhammer 40,000]]'' screaming "I'LL TEAR YOU APART!". The text displayed at the end says "Hahaha, haha, hahahahaha! FOR THE CHANGER OF WAYS! Made by VenerableDread. Original commercial hosted on eBaum's World." The original was removed from [[YouTube]] because of VenerableDread's termination but was reuploaded on November 8th, 2025. Unfortunately, the video reupload has also been deleted.
'''Fire Safety with Ready Freddie the Fire Teddy''' was a [[Flash]] [[animation]] made by [[Liquid Generation]]. Unlike other Liquid Generation sabotages, this one may not intend to scare the viewer, but rather, it disguises itself as a kid-friendly animation to trick families into playing the game due to its innocent-looking title. Nevertheless, it still contains a moment that can be considered a [[screamer]]. The screamer was taken down along with the entire Liquid Generation [[website]].

==Content==
The animation starts with Freddie in the kitchen, saying that he's going to teach the player how to prevent fires. He then walks over to a boiling pot and asks the player to turn it off. Next, Freddie moves on to an open drawer with some matches and a lighter inside, and asks the player to close it. Finally, Freddie walks over to an electrical socket with 5 plugs emitting sparks and asks the player to unplug them all. However, when the player unplugs the one with a smiley bulb on it, Freddie gets electrocuted, violently screams, and the screen flashes. Then, it cuts back to a now charred Freddie, who is enraged and starts swearing at the film crew with a deeper voice. The swearing is bleeped out. Freddie then storms off-screen to take his anger out on his film crew while the director tries to calm him down.

We see the camera and microphone being shoved to the ground. After this, the video cuts to a black and white image of Ready Freddie, which reads "We are experiencing technical difficulties," and the Girl from Ipanema plays in the background. The video then cuts to a static screen, followed by text that appears saying: "You have been sabotaged." The word "SABOTAGE" pops up. Then, a ninja falls and says, "Click here for more sabotages" before a link to Liquidgeneration.com crushes him.

At the beginning of the video, Colibritany introduces the viewer to her hotel room. However, at the 1 minute and 16-second mark, while she is talking about the bathtub reminding her of scary movies, the video abruptly cuts to a close-up picture of [[Regan MacNeil]] from ''[[wikipedia:The Exorcist|The Exorcist]]'', accompanied by the same scream from [[K-fee commercials]]. After the screamer, the video continues.
'''When Will I/You Die?''' was a [[Adobe Flash Player|flash]] [[screamer]] sabotage created by [[Liquid Generation]]. The game was taken down along with the entire [[Liquid Generation]] site.

It shows a quiz that supposedly tells the player how and when they will die by asking them simple questions such as their age, weight, and more. After these questions, it shows a box that generates the player's type of death, although it says the same one every time (you will die from a heart attack), then has the same box that chooses the player's date of death. After a couple of seconds, the words "You will die TODAY!" will appear with a loud scream.

Then the text "Just Kidding!" appears, and a button says "Get your real death date." When the player clicks, it will start to generate their date. Below the text "You will die:", the word "NOW!" suddenly pops up, and the scene from [[Wikipedia:Peter Jackson|Peter Jackson's]] ''[[Wikipedia:Braindead (film)|Braindead]]'' (''Dead Alive'' in the U.S.) where Vera is overfilled with embalming fluid appears on the screen, with a picture of a bloody man with glasses from the same movie zooming in and out

This is followed by the text "You've been sabotaged," as well as a link to the website and a button to play the prank again. There is another version featuring the bloody man with glasses appearing when it says "you will die TODAY!" before it says "Just Kidding!" and can be accessed on the [[Wayback Machine]].

It became fairly well-known after YouTuber [[wikipedia:PewDiePie|PewDiePie]] featured it in a video called "Top 10 Creepiest Websites!"<ref>youtube.com/watch?v=h5xNrK6SDkw&t=314s</ref>.
'''Baikinman's Heartbeat''' is a [[screamer]] video published on Veoh and later on [[YouTube]] made by Para Para Revolution (known in this wiki as Mega Osodashi), on YouTube as The SkyMAX Channel and in Veoh as GenerationForce).

The video shows a clip from an episode of ''[[Wikipedia:Anpanman|Anpanman]]'', "Anpanman and Dokinchan," in which Baikinman, the show's main antagonist, sleeps before his heartbeats. The audio is very poor in quality, urging viewers to turn it up. At 0:11, after Baikinman hops out to see what's going on, an image of Giygas from the video game <i>[[wikipedia:EarthBound|EarthBound]]</i> pops up, accompanied by a creator's loud scream.

The video then cuts to footage from the Japan-only video game ''TwinBee RPG'', which has white text reading "''HAHAHA! Gotcha this time! Made in part by GenerationForce.''", accompanied by ''Whenever Love'' by Ken Laszlo.

===Description===
Baikinman had severe heart palpitations while sleeping. The clip is from the'' Soreike! Anpanman'' episode "Anpanman and Dokinchan". You must turn the volume up to hear it because it's very low!
'''The Da Vinci Code - The Real Truth''' was a [[Flash]] [[screamer]] based on the film [[wikipedia:The Da Vinci Code (film)|with the same name]], created by [[Liquid Generation]] in 2006.

The animation starts with the following text against a red curtain background: "We recently uncovered surprising truths that can be backed by conclusive evidence. We are confident that our discoveries about the life and times of Jesus Christ will change the religious world as we know it."

When the player clicks next, a message appears stating that "Are you able to discover the truth and decipher the code?". The puzzle part has now appeared. The player doesn't have to do anything because the puzzle solves itself, just before the truth is revealed. An unwrapped mummy from the same film pops up with a loud scream. Following that, like every other sabotage, the [[Liquid Generation]] Sabotage jingle plays, and the ninja promotes the site before being crushed by the link as normal.
'''Dress Up The Snowman''' is a [[Flash]] [[screamer]] game created by [[Liquid Generation]] as one of their ''Sabotages''.

The game features a main menu screen with Christmas-themed text and a loading screen before presenting a brief instructional blurb and a button to start the gameplay. The objective is to dress up the snowman by dragging hats and other clothes from the item slots onto it. Once the player finishes, they can click on the "Watch Him Dance" button. However, upon clicking it, a skeleton pops out of the snowman and screams the word "die" three times, followed by the standard Liquid Generation sabotage outro sequence.

'''Scare Your Friends With This Video''' is a [[screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by a user simply known as ''idiot'' on June 13, 2010.

The video opens with an annotation that said:

"''Please,do not watch this video (or show it to anybody with it) if you have any heart conditions or history of panic attacks. I am not responsible for any injury or psychological damage-causing from viewing this video. By viewing this video, you agree to this text box, and what I have written in it. That being said, please enjoy scaring your friends!" ''

Most of the video consists of the user talking about the [[YouTube]] logo, questioning if there is something wrong with it. The audio in this segment is very low, making some viewers turn up their volume. At 49 seconds, [[Regan MacNeil]] from ''[[wikipedia:The Exorcist (film)|The Exorcist]]'' appears with the scream from [[The Maze]], ending the video.

The video received a lot of popularity due to the popular Youtube channel ''FBE'' featuring this video in one of their episodes. The creator privated the video immediately after gaining recognition, but was later unlisted.

Another version of the [[screamer]] changes [[Regan MacNeil]] to the same image used in [[i like bread]].

'''eva unit 01''' is a [[Screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by EmberBlitz07 on May 28th 2025. The video disguises itself as an innocuous slideshow of the Unit-01 from the anime [[Wikipedia:Neon Genesis Evangelion|Neon Genesis Evangelion]]. It takes heavy inspiration from [[Willy in simpsons]].

The video starts off with a series of photos of the Unit-01 from Evangelion, set to the [[Wikipedia:Whiplash (band)|Whiplash]] song War Monger, but 12 seconds in, a photo of the Mother Alien from [[Wikipedia:Aliens (film)|Aliens]] appears with the scream from [[The Maze]]. It then ends with credits made in Windows Movie Maker, reading "Better luck next time. :p Haha, made by Kannonblitz85. For the changer of ways, and in memory of Venerabledread!". These credits are set to the [[Wikipedia:Venom (band)|Venom]] song Mayhem with Mercy. This references the credits to VenerableDread's version of [[Subliminal Screamer]].
The '''Cuffi Adverts''' are a series of [[screamer]] videos that claim to be inspired by the [[K-fee commercials]]. They were released through November 3rd-4th 2006 by [[YouTube]] user VenerableDread, maker of such screamers like [[Saddam Hussein Execution]]. Each video ends with a parody of [[K-fee]]'s slogan, along with the Internet's ending variation: "Now go change your pants."

=== Sunset (Advert 1) ===
A view of the sunset shown from the side of the road is displayed for 9 seconds. After this, an image of a Cyberman from ''[[wikipedia:Doctor Who|Doctor Who]]'' pops up with the same scream from [[What's Wrong?]]
=== Motorway (Advert 2) ===
A view of a motorway with a bunch of cars driving around is shown. Again, at 9 seconds, a screamer appears, this time a green-scaled image of a deformed face along with the same scream from [[What's Wrong?]].
'''What's Wrong With This Picture''' is a [[screamer]] video that uses the sample of [[What's Wrong With This Picture?|the screamer with the same name]]. The video was uploaded to [[YouTube]] by FoJizzle on June 23th, 2012.

The video begins with a somber, greyish shot of an abandoned house, with a child visible in the foreground taking a photo. Accompanied by the melancholic melody of Chad Frey's ''This Loss Has No Value'', the camera zooms in on the house briefly before fading to black. The screen then displays a bold, capitalized red text in Arial font that reads, "What's in the trees?".

After a few moments, the text changes to "Let's have a closer look," and the video cuts to a shot of a hill covered in dense trees. The camera zooms in on the hill for approximately five seconds before cutting to an image of [[Amy Peterson]], a character from the 1985 American horror film [[Wikipedia:Fright Night|Fright Night]] accompanied by a buzzing sound of a mosquito.
'''K-fee (Ghost Car / Scary Car) Police Chase''' was a [[screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by the infamous GoAnimator ''Fallout Fanatic 2007 The Vyonder'' on January 14, 2025, which was made as a parody of the [[K-fee commercials|K-fee Car commercial]].

The video begins with a custom HD restoration of the K-fee Lite Car commercial, except the music is low-pitched to match that of the original K-fee Car commercial. Three seconds into the video, a police car appears, playing sirens and chasing the white car on the road. During this, the video progressively speeds up and gets higher pitched, making it look like the white car is driving faster than usual.

Then, when both cars pass behind the large bush, they crash into each other, causing the video's original speed and pitch to be restored. As the video continues, and just like in the original Car Lite commercial, the man wearing a polo shirt pops up while saying, "Boo!", followed by said commercial's slogan suggesting the decrease in caffeine in Latte Macchiato Classic.

Afterwards, however, the zombie from the original K-fee Car advert pops up with its usual scream, which is soon followed by the zombies and gargoyles from all nine of the K-fee commercials appearing and screaming at once, just a couple seconds later. The K-fee Latte Macchiato Classic bottle is then show for a second time, accompanied by the video slightly speeding up and "K-fee" being whispered twice. Just about a second later, a picture of a zombie woman (not the infamous [[Zombie Girl]]) appears with the same scream from [[The Maze]], concluding the video

== Trivia ==

* The screamers in the video may have been based off the ones from [[K-fee screamer fest]], as they pretty much follow the same template as those in that video: the zombie from the original Car advert is shown, followed by all of the zombies and gargoyles from all of the nine commercials, and one more screamer that it unrelated to the K-fee commercials.

* According to the uploader, they apparently made this video for the second episode of his Angry German Kid series, based off the well-known YouTube video with the same name. In said episode, Leopold Slikk, the main character, would've stumbled across the K-fee commercials and watched them.
'''Britney Spears Maze''' is a [[screamer]] game that was created by extremefunnypictures and hosted by [[Scaryforkids]].

The game requires the player to navigate through a given path without touching or hitting the walls, following the typical gameplay of this genre. If the player crashes into the walls, they will be sent back to the beginning and have to start over. The game promises players that if they can complete each level, [[wikipedia:Britney Spears|Britney Spears]] will get half-naked, and it asks them to adjust their volume to hear her talk dirty. Upon clicking the button, the player can see an image of Spears on the left side of the screen. The maze's color scheme is similar to that of the game [[Steady Hand]], and the game consists of 2 levels. As the player progresses, the difficulty increases as the walls shrink, forcing them to position themselves closer to the computer screen to move the dot with greater precision. Almost at level 2, a picture of a bright red demon from the box art of the video game ''[[wikipedia:Doom (1993 video game)|The Ultimate Doom]]'' appears along with a high-pitched, echoing, loud scream, zooming in and out. Finally, the game prompts players to share a link upon reaching the end portion.
'''A Big New Fancy DIAAAAAAAAARG!''' is a [[screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by [[User:DiscoverGuy1999|DiscoverGuy1999]] on April 22, 2023. The video appears to be a modified version of a video made by ''Kasey Leitch NEXT GEN'' on January 18, 2023, which has no screamer.

The video starts with a clip from the ''[[wikipedia:Thomas & Friends|Thomas & Friends]]'' episode "Cranky at the End of the Line", where Salty calls out "A big new fancy crane!". However, at 0:03, the video cuts to the screamer from [[Ghost in the London Dungeon]], complete with its ending where the man lies back down again. Both clips are also paired with loud, distorted audio.

'''Bully battle! (WARNING SCREAMER)''' is a [[Scratch]] project made by ''Ducklings4eva'' on June 16th, 2014. It stars a small duckling named Paddles and a red rabbit with a red and yellow flower on their head named Sweetie, both of which are presumably voiced by the creator. To make them speak visually, they use Scratch's speech bubble blocks. The Instructions box on the project’s page simply reads “A surprising little winner."

== Content ==
The two characters start in a school classroom backdrop taken from Scratch’s backdrop library, standing in front of a chalkboard with red curtains on the sides of it. At first, Paddles complains over Sweetie taking some kind of grain all for herself and not wanting to share with him. He proceeds to quack several times at her until she shares, but she doesn't listen. Paddles says, "You asked for it," and the background fades into an open field with several trees, houses, and hills in the background.

The battle begins from here, with role-playing game mechanics similar to that of ''Pokémon'', and Paddles and Sweetie starting with 150% and 200% health, respectively. Paddles uses a rolling attack, thus taking away 25% of Sweetie’s health. The exact opposite happens when Sweetie uses an "energy ball" attack. Paddles then uses a "creepy stare" attack as he is shown facing towards the screen on a black background, accompanied by a creepy reversed music track. Suddenly, his skin and pupils turn red, just for the screen to cut to black. After another second, Paddles is shown with white and red irises and pupils with black outlines around them and cyan outlines around his head and body, while remaining red skin, accompanied by a loud female scream.

After the screamer, the animation cuts back to the field, except Sweetie has lost all of her health. Three seconds later, she disappears with a popping sound and the animation concludes with Paddles becoming happy and closing his eyes.
'''Jingle Bells Reversed''' was a [[screamer]] [[Flash]] [[animation]] created by Daniel Fowler and was originally found on [[Newgrounds]] in 2004. The original animation was deleted but added to the [[DeviantArt]] [[website]] by the original owner (under the alias: "Fhashstark") with a description claiming that he's the owner of the animation. [[Jeremy Winterrowd]] also featured this screamer on his website: "[[Winterrowd.com]]". A yellow version of this game can be found on Ebaumsworld and was later posted to Y8.com, a popular flash game website.

The animation starts with an excerpt from the famous Christmas song [[wikipedia:Jingle Bells|''Jingle Bells'']] playing forward. Following the first extract, the same song was played backward, and a color-inverted [[GIF]] of Daniel Fowler, the author, making a weird face flashes with a high-pitched, hilarious-sounding scream about three-quarters of the way through the excerpt.
'''Saddam Hussein Execution''' was a 16-second-long [[screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by the now-deleted channel VenerableDread on December 30, 2006. The video was meant to trick people into thinking it contained the execution footage of former Iraqi politician and fifth president of Iraq [[wikipedia:Saddam Hussein|Saddam Hussein]], who was executed by hanging on the same day this screamer was uploaded.

The video begins with red text on a black background that reads "Saddam Hussein Execution Video! Actual Footage Of The Bastard Getting Hung! Watch It! By VenerableDread" in all caps. The text is displayed for nine seconds and then fades away. Immediately after the text vanishes, a loud high-pitched shriek (the same one from [[Guess the bunny's favorite fruit]]) starts playing while a large number of screamer images quickly flash on the screen, including:

*A red-tinted image of the [[It|titular character]] (Pennywise) from the 1990 miniseries ''[[wikipedia:It (miniseries)|It]]''.
*[[wikipedia:Billy_the_Puppet|Billy the Puppet]].
*A green-tinted, distorted image of a person with their mouth open.
After the montage, a rapidly flashing image of a giant spider in a room tilts to the left while zooming in, followed by a [[GIF]] of a ConSec scanner's head exploding into bits and pieces, taken from the 1981 horror film ''[[wikipedia:Scanners|Scanners]]''.
'''Scary Website Screamer 2016''' was a screamer video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by user ''Henry Ramos'' in 2016.

The video starts with a flashing image of [[Pazuzu]] from [[Wikipedia:The Exorcist (film)|The Exorcist]] with a loud, echoing scream playing in the background. There is a link to the website in the description of the video (hence the title). Unfortunately, the video has since been removed due to the creator’s channel being terminated, but it was reuploaded on November 7th, 2025.
'''A nice relaxing farm''' is a screamer video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by ''Mirnesa Hadzic'', it was originally uploaded on January 17th, 2021 until the channel was terminated. However, it was later reuploaded on January 12th, 2023, on the channel ''Mirnesa Hadzic Is Back''.

As the title suggests, the video shows an image of a farm with [[wikipedia:Morning_Mood|Morning Mood]] playing until 2:51, where the video cuts to a flurry of screamer images with the same scream from [[Hit the Dot]], but in G-Major. The images include:
* [[Pazuzu]].
* A close-up image of [[Regan MacNeil]] from ''[[wikipedia:The Exorcist|The Exorcist]]''.
* The demon boy from ''Dead Birds''.
* [[Pennywise]].
* The ''Fatal Frame'' ghost.
* [[Ahenobarbus Henocied]].
* [[Jeff the Killer]].
* [[Smile Dog]].
* The [[K-fee]] zombie and gargoyle.
* [[Katie Embry]].
* The demonic girl from [[Little Dancing Girl]].
* [[Amy Peterson]].
* The same screamer from [[SCP-450]] and [[1994 Walt Disney Classics In G-Major]].
After that, the video cuts to black.
'''How To Make Fruit Punch''' is a [[Scratch]] [[screamer]] created by aidangonzo123 on February 26, 2021.

The project itself instructs the player on how to make fruit punch. The first step is to get a watermelon. After this, a watermelon appears, and the player must cut the watermelon using a knife by clicking the watermelon. As soon as the player clicks it, a shaking and flashing picture of a bloody knife appears, along with a loud scream. Then, the game ends.
{{Quote|I made this game in October of '04 for Halloween and sent it to a few of my friends in an email. About 5 months later, someone had sent the same email back to my mother! It had turned into a viral email joke. '''The Maze™''', also known as the '''Scary Maze Game''' (or originally '''The Maze Game v1.0'''<ref>tcrf.net/The_Maze</ref>), was a Flash [[screamer]] created in October 2004 by game developer and programmer [[Jeremy Winterrowd]], originally posted to his personal website "[[Winterrowd.com]]".

This Flash prank disguises itself as a simple maze game, in which the player must use their mouse cursor to guide a small dot through the maze. At the start screen, a note informs the player that the objective of the game is to pass through all four levels, and the player cannot touch the walls; however, the game consists of only three levels. The game also explains that it's best with the volume on, but there's no sound in any part of the game.

Since this infamous Flash game debuted in 2004, it has become a popular internet screamer. It has inspired a variety of different maze screamers to be made over the years.

==Gameplay==
The first two levels are easy to complete. But as the third level is reached, the walls begin to shrink and have sharp turns, making it difficult to avoid touching them. This usually makes the player concentrate on the screen. Then, near the first curve to the left of the maze sharp part (The game also knows if the player is cheating; if they use right-click), a close-up image of [[Regan MacNeil]] (the possessed character portrayed by [[wikipedia:Linda Blair|Linda Blair]]) from the 1973 supernatural horror film ''[[wikipedia:The Exorcist|The Exorcist]]'' pops up along with a loud, distorted scream that plays twice, scaring the player.

The game was uploaded to Jeremy's now-defunct personal website, Winterrowd.com, in 2005. The original version of the game had some slight differences in colors, where orange/yellow with alternative text was used instead of cyan. There's an alternative version of the game that is used in the comedy television series ''[[America's Funniest Home Videos]]'', where Regan at the end is replaced with the one from [[What's Wrong?]],<ref>youtu.be/kZKZa9bwhnA?t=30</ref> due to concerns regarding copyrighted content.

== Reactions ==
{{Main|Reaction videos}}
[[File:Reaction.png|thumb|left|220x220px|Justice playing The Maze, one of the famous screamers.]]
Many people have posted videos of other people reacting to the game. The first [https://odysee.com/@screamreuploads:e/chad-pranks-his-stepson-justice:2 reaction video] on YouTube was uploaded by OUTLAW713, on February 21, 2006.<ref>http://web.archive.org/web/20070306004420/https://youtube.com/watch?v=Bvv7MBZk_f4</ref> In the [[reaction video]], a young kid, ''Justice'', is playing the maze. Then, he is surprised by the screamer. Shocked, he starts screaming and repeatedly hitting the computer screen. He then runs to his stepdad, Chad, and starts crying. The original video and channel were terminated or taken down sometime in 2009; however, some reuploads had over 27 million views.
The most viewed Maze Game video was uploaded by YouTube user nalts and has accumulated over 43 million views as of October 2017. However, the video was removed due to the channel's termination.

===Level 4===
[[File:Level4.jpg|thumb|One of the supposed "Level 4"s.|right|200x200px]]
Even though only three levels exist in the game code, some videos circulated about a secret fourth level. On [[YouTube]], there are some fake videos of people supposedly successfully going through the 3rd level and finally entering the 4th level, instead of a screamer. The earliest "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXWsd5_qlpw tutorial]" on how to get to the 4th level was uploaded by the YouTube user SoccerMomDebbie on October 19, 2008.

Other videos of the mysterious level continued to circulate. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NedCSuGt0eg This video], which has more than 1.25 million views as of 2019 showed the cursor make a shortcut (which in practice would have killed the player) in level 3 unlocks a trigger to level 4 (pictured); once finishing the level, the game goes back to the main screen; text asks the viewer; "care to try a little bit faster this time?".

Outside of YouTube, users on Answers.com also asked about how to access the level; in response, users either replied in a fake way or told the asker that level 4 does not exist.<ref>https://www.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_get_to_level_4_in_the_scary_maze_game</ref>

The fake level 4 was confirmed to have been made in Adobe Photoshop and played using the Microsoft Paint eraser.

=== Parodies ===
''The Maze'' has been parodied on ''[[wikipedia:Saturday Night Live|Saturday Night Live]]'' skit "I Didn't Ask For This".<ref>youtube.com/watch?v=4CD0ZbvIyQE</ref> There is also a game called [[Save Justin Bieber]], created by Jeremy Winterrowd himself, which replaces some parts of the game with a picture of Justin Bieber instead of Regan, and the maze color is light purple instead of cyan.

In ''[[wikipedia:The Simpsons|The Simpsons]]'' episode "''[[wikipedia:Flanders' Ladder|Flanders' Ladder]]''" ([[wikipedia:The Simpsons (season 29)|Season 29]]) the opening segment has Bart Simpson prank his sister Lisa by having her play a game called "''Genius Maze''", which is a direct spoof of The Maze, however, in this spoof, the jumpscare happened very early on in the 2nd level and has a popup of a zombie, resembling Regan.<ref>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=502ZX1fAKzk</ref>''<nowiki/>''

A parody image of The Maze is one of the possible [[Wikipedia:404 error|404 error]] images given on [[Screamer Wiki]].

[[Jeremy Winterrowd]] released an [[AFV]] version of The Maze, which is vastly inspired from AFV's usage of [[What's Wrong With This Picture?]] [[screamer]] in their shows.
'''Comics that will make you think(EPIC FAIL)''' is a [[screamer]] project made by benpearson50 on April 27, 2011.

The animation starts with a stick figure saying, "Now I'm going to show you comics that will make you think!" in the creator's voice. It then proceeds to show a comic of Naruto and Sasuke. After a few seconds, a picture of a drawn Noob figure from Roblox screaming "H3lp M3H IM STUCK!!!!" is shown. However, it then abruptly changes to a picture of the same screaming woman from Katies Scary Face (which is also the project's thumbnail, spoiling the fact that it is a screamer), accompanied by the creator's scream. The picture then disappears, and the same stick figure from before appears again, apologizing to the viewer and walking away, at which point the same screamer appears again, albeit without any sound.
<b>A Day In The Life Of The Steel Legion</b> was a [[screamer]] [[video]] uploaded to [[YouTube]] on November 25th, 2006 by VenerableDread.

A good chunk of this video is footage of the game <i>[[wikipedia: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War|Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War]]</i> intercut with text stating a possible story for the scenarios. All seems fine and good until the ending, where text appears: "THE END! Now go home, or..." on a yellow background. After this, an image of a giant spider in a room (later used in [[Saddam Hussein Execution]]) appears, flashing with a loud version of the scream from the [[K-fee commercials]]. The video ends with "Now it's THE END. Happy now?"

The video was later deleted due to VenerableDread's account being terminated, and was lost for quite some time, but it was later reuploaded by [[Special:Contributions/LetycjuszS|LetycjuszS]] on the Screamercord.
{{Quote|I made this game in October of '04 for Halloween and sent it to a few of my friends in an email. About 5 months later, someone had sent the same email back to my mother!

==Gameplay==

== Reactions ==
{{Main|Reaction videos}}

===Level 4===

=== Parodies ===

'''Sonic.exe''' is a [[creepypasta]] character and one of the notable examples of a creepypasta character. Sonic.exe had also inspired multiple .exe [[games]] including [[Uchakip]], [[Google.exe]], [[Hotel Mario 6]] and its unofficial sequel [[Sonic2.exe]].

==Character==
''Sonic.exe'' is a fictional character that originated from a creepypasta story in 2011. The story describes Sonic the Hedgehog turning into a demonic and murderous version of himself after being possessed by an evil entity. Sonic.exe's character design is mostly based on the popular video game character [[wikipedia:Sonic the Hedgehog|Sonic the Hedgehog]], but with slight changes to create a more demonic and sinister appearance. In most depictions of ''Sonic.exe'', his body is Sonic's with black eyes, red pupils and blood coming out of them, and he has razor-sharp teeth and claws. He navigates the world, manipulating its code and using dark illusions to torment people. His shape-shifting skills allow him to assume Sonic's form. In contrast to Sonic the Hedgehog, ''Sonic.exe'' embodies traits of wrath, sadism, and cruelty. He takes pleasure in repeatedly eliminating lives, positioning himself as the embodiment of pure evil, and views humanity as his ultimate plaything. In some versions of the story, Sonic.exe is depicted as having a distorted, pixelated appearance, as if he is glitching out of the game.

==Synopsis==
The ''Sonic.exe'' [[creepypasta]] was originally written by JC-the-Hyena on Creepypasta Wiki on August 9th, 2011. The creator revealed that the idea originated from a photoshopped screenshot of Sonic the Hedgehog's loading screen. This manipulated image portrayed the character with eye wounds while still retaining his mocking smile.<ref>https://www.creepypasta.com/sonic-exe/</ref>

In this story, the author Tom shares an experience involving a potentially glitched or hacked Sonic game. It all starts when the author receives an unusual CD in the mail from their friend Kyle. The CD is labeled "SONIC.EXE" and it comes with a note urgently pleading with the author to destroy it to prevent "evil" from pursuing them. Despite that, the author decides to give the game a try. As they play, a series of strange and unsettling events begin to unfold. Navigating through the game as different characters—Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik—Tom encounters a sequence of unsettling occurrences. The game's world features dead animals, twisted-level designs, and glitchy gameplay, suggesting that something is seriously wrong. What's more, the characters' expressions seem to change from normal to fearful, as if they are breaking the fourth wall and trying to communicate directly with the player.

Suddenly, at one moment during the game, the computer shuts down unexpectedly, and the author is unable to restart it no matter what he tries. As the author struggles to remove the game from their computer, they encounter resistance as if the game has become stuck in the system. Eventually, Tom manages to restore power to the computer and is met with a whisper-like voice from behind. The voice urges him to "keep this interesting." Upon turning to investigate, he saw a sight of Sonic plushie sitting on their bed, its smile covered by bloodstains under its eyes.
'''Sonic.exe''' is a [[creepypasta]] [[game]] created by the game developer MY5TCrimson. The game starts with the main intro reminiscent of the classic 1991 ''[[wikipedia:Sega Genesis|Sega Genesis]]'' title, ''[[wikipedia:Sonic the Hedgehog (1991 video game)|Sonic the Hedgehog]]''. However, this intro is changed by a sudden shift in scenery. Sonic changes into a form of himself with pitch-black eyes and fiery red pupils. The game then cuts into a character selection screen, giving players the choice of three characters. Each character can be unlocked progressively in the order they're introduced.

===Tails route===
[[File:Tailssonicexe.png|thumb|left|150px|Tails in "HILL" area.]]
If [[wikipedia:Tails (Sonic the Hedgehog)|Tails]] is chosen, players start on Act 1 as Tails in the "HILL" area. The background features a reversed version of the music that would be used in Robotnik's level.<ref>Contrary to popular beliefs, the music is not the reversed version of the Green Hill Zone theme.</ref> The level mirrors the original [[wikipedia:Green Hill Zone|Green Hill Zone]], but now rendered as an empty space. Players can go left or right, though the left path offers no significant events. Proceeding forward reveals a gruesome scene—lifeless animal corpses hanging from trees, with their intestines gruesomely exposed. After encountering dead animals, the music abruptly stops. Soon after, Tails encounters Sonic with closed eyes. A cutscene unfolds as Tails approaches Sonic amidst increasing static, accompanied by eerie white noise. As Sonic's eyes open, the screen fades to black, and the text appears: "Hello, Do You Want To Play With Me?" This marks the beginning of a hide-and-seek level. Tails finds himself in a burning Angel Island Zone, with flames in the background. As players progress, a scene unfolds requiring them to outrun Sonic. Escaping proves inefficient, as ''Sonic.exe'' catches and kills Tails in a cutscene where Tails cries, accompanied by a scream from the 1988 film ''[[wikipedia:Slugs (1988 film)|Slugs]]''.

===Knuckles route===
With Tails' fate taken by ''Sonic.exe'', players assume control of [[wikipedia:Knuckles the Echidna|Knuckles]], who can punch by using the "X" key. The game shifts to "YOU CAN'T RUN", set in the [https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Scrap_Brain_Zone Scrap Brain Zone]. This echoes Tails' experience, with static effects and a blood-stained terrain. ''Sonic.exe'' would then appear in front of Knuckles, with the ominous message: "FOUND YOU." This triggers a battle against ''Sonic.exe'', who teleports behind Knuckles whenever approached. Despite Knuckles' efforts, a cutscene plays wherein Knuckles appears fatigued, and Sonic approaches behind him, ultimately ending his life.

===Robotnik route===
The game shifts to [[wikipedia:Doctor Eggman|Dr. Robotnik]] as the last playable character. Appearing in a Marble Zone world labeled "...," the level is set in a castle with walls covered in blood and ghostly blue flames. As Robotnik walks down the staircase, the scene becomes erratic, culminating in Sonic.exe's intervention. An abrupt static screen transitions to an image of ''Sonic.exe'' with the text "I AM GOD" followed by an eerie silence. Following this, the game ended with a game-over screen. This scene depicts ''Sonic.exe'' moving past mutilated Knuckles, Tails, and Robotnik.<ref>This game-over screen can only be found in older versions of the game.</ref> An effort to escape triggers another image of ''Sonic.exe'' grinning with the phrase "I AM GOD". The screen shifts to an image featuring Japanese text and Sonic.exe in the background, accompanied by an eerie melody from the game's song Crytopia.<ref>web.archive.org/web/20130520223241/<nowiki>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkDyvfYgEOM</nowiki></ref>
===Secret ending route===
[[File:Tailssecretending.png|thumb|right|200px|As Tails, the unfamiliar level can be accessed by going through the left side of the screen after the music stops.]]
While playing as Tails, progress until you come upon the remains of deceased animals strewn across the ground and among the palm trees, and run to take the left path. Navigating through this will guide you to an unfamiliar level. In this location, you'll spot Sonic positioned below. Upon making contact with Sonic, more static follows, accompanied by the message "The fire awaits." Subsequently, Tails returns to HILL. As you proceed left, you'll notice a black ring that you can collect.

When assuming the role of Knuckles, proceed along the same leftward path as Tails. Upon reaching a sizeable pit, jumping into it sets off a series of glitches alongside the message "Don't like playing by the rules?" Keep moving forward to the FFFFFFFFF course, where Knuckles encounters a succession of photosensitive-inducing screens. Navigating through these distorted words ultimately leads to a definitive message: "YOU'RE NEXT" followed by static. Knuckles subsequently returns to "YOU CAN'T RUN" and continues to the left, discovering a second black ring that they can collect.

Robotnik begins by walking to the right and then proceeds to the left, following a route akin to that of Tails and Knuckles. As you opt for the left path, static emerges, leading Robotnik to an unnamed course. Text becomes visible: "Why do you persist in fighting? My game has only just begun." Further static follows, and Robotnik returns to "...". Move left once more to locate the third black ring, available for you to collect.

After obtaining all 3 black rings, the game wraps up and transitions to an image that brings to mind the Japanese text, now translated into English. The text conveys:

{{Quote|"There is a way to release ourselves. A spell to obtain our souls once more. But we must speak it — but when we speak — No sound. We are all deaf. So failure is inevitable. And I regret ever entering my internal bet with the devil inside of me. Immortality vs. soul snatching. Gary Crook vs. Jake Shanley.<ref>MY5TCrimson's Colleagues facebook.com/my5tcrimson/photos/gary-crook-vs-jake-shanley-ambition-is-overrated-so-yeah-if-youre-wondering-who-/745614748927093/</ref> Ambition is overrated."}}

Following this, the display shifts to an unnamed static course, and the player assumes control of the authentic Sonic. Advancing to the right, they will come across the phrase: "You had a chance to complay, but now you've come too far." Upon finishing the course, final words emerge: "The time has come for your soul to join theirs." A close-up of ''Sonic.exe'' appears, and Sonic vanishes (his fate remains unknown), followed by a malevolent, distorted laugh. Japanese text emerges amid the static.

==Impact==
In addition to the original creepypasta story, the popular 2D side-scrolling platformer game was developed by MY5TCrimson. The game closely follows the original storyline,<ref name="Daily">The Daily Dot. "Is Sonic.exe real? The story of the creepy video game hack." 16 Dec. 2019, https://www.dailydot.com/unclick/sonic-exe-creepypasta/.</ref> The player controlling Sonic's friends (including Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik) and encountering unsettling occurrences as they progress through familiar levels such as [[wikipedia:Green Hill Zone|Green Hill Zone]], albeit with darker and more disturbing twists. This remake proved to be highly influential in the horror game genre, inspiring numerous fan-made remakes and sequels that created a subgenre of ".exe" games. These games typically feature well-known video game characters, such as Mario or Sonic, who have been corrupted or possessed, and the player must navigate through a dark and twisted version of their world. Fans of the genre also began creating their games based on these stories, using game engines like RPG Maker or Game Maker. Some of the most popular ".exe" games that followed ''Sonic.exe'' include [[Luna Game]], [[Yoshi.exe]], and [[Uchakip]], among others. These games often include similar themes to ''Sonic.exe'', such as corrupted game files, distorted music, and [[jump scares]]. This game would later get an official remaster known as ''SONIC 2011'' by Sonic.exe's new owner JoeDoughBoi.<ref>gamejolt.com/games/sonic/783884</ref>
'''Extreme Video: Car Crash''' was a [[screamer]] game created by [[Liquid Generation]]. The screamer was taken down along with the entire Liquid Generation website.

The game features an intense video montage that can be played, resumed, or paused by the player. The first video depicts an officer almost being struck by a vehicle in 2002, and the player is prompted to replay it. However, upon replaying the video, blood splatters are added, and a picture of a cop's head scrolls down the bottom of the screen, making for a startling and disturbing surprise.
'''(YTPT) Scabs kicks someone's eye''' is a [[screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by ''Louie'' (a.k.a. VideoEditor2000 and VYEAL666) on June 22nd, 2015. It was the 11th YTP Tennis round to the "Scabs Poop Chain" which features 2 screamers at the end of the cutoff prevention. It was previously reuploaded by ''Gabrielpika/Lopun Gerts'' and remained this way until it resurfaced publicly. The video is known for its use in the video "K.../M....(.....(YTPT) Scabs kicks someone's eye", also known as "My Edited Video".

The video begins with Louie saying the following: "Guys, when i saw this video, i just got a new logo so enjoy this.. episode and this round. so.. the round next is JC so, let's play." Then features a ton of visual effects and random sources such as [[Wikipedia:The Aquabats!
The video cuts to text reading "Your Turn Jose Cura", followed by a clip of ''[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nbduPUAdRs The D U Htterfinger Quick as D U H Sensest!]'' video. A frame of Dumb Ways To Die flashes for a split second before cutting to the same video, now with '''Kc₁F₇''' by Kyoobur9000 inserted into it. The scene then cuts to black, with the 4L logo appearing. The [[wikipedia:Klasky_Csupo|Klasky-Csupo]] robot appears zooming in with black eyes and red pupils, accompanied by a distorted roar. Text follows, stating "THIS IS A WARNING", and Louie says, "Warning, this part is very scary so be careful". '''Ghost Footage''' was a [[screamer]] video uploaded to [[YouTube]] by ''VenerableDread'' on November 5th, 2006.

The video starts with some text prompting the viewer to find something wrong with a low-quality image of a graveyard. The message is “This is some footage in a graveyard. However, something seems wrong. Very wrong. Watch closely”. It then displays the image. 13 seconds into the video, a red-filtered picture of [[Pennywise]] from the 1990 miniseries ''It'' pops up, accompanied by a loud scream. The final segment of the video displays text stating that "You should have realized that it wasn’t actually ghost footage, you twit! Made by VenerableDread." The text fades away, and the video ends.
