The Jumpscare Challenge

The Jumpscare Challenge is a screamer video created by ethanb0206 that challenges viewers not to get startled by a sudden jumpscare without knowing when it will occur. The video was originally uploaded to YouTube on January 18th, 2016, and has amassed over 3.3 million views as of 2021, with a like-to-dislike ratio of 64.51.

The video begins with Barney inquiring the viewer on the moment the screamer will appear in it, before chuckling as his face transforms into a Trollface. It then fades to pitch black, and throughout the video, Barney randomly appears on the screen, accompanied by the words "Don't Skip." At 46 seconds into the video, a bright close-up image of Barney's face with sharp teeth with a red threshold filter suddenly appears, along with an extremely loud nuclear noise. The image then fades out, only to immediately return with the screamer.

The screamer portion of the video was featured on SSSniperWolf's YouTube channel at the 5:49 mark. After the jumpscare, she exclaimed "Oh my god, that scared the shit out of me; And I'm so sorry if that scared you, but I felt like I needed a jumpscare. I needed to do a jumpscare because that last clip was not scary at all, so sorry."
