On-screen text instructs the viewer to "stare directly into the center" and "not to look away" for 30 seconds in order to "experience true optical hypnosis." At around the 27-second mark, as the music fades slightly, a loud, distorted scream erupts while a gruesome close-up image of a decayed corpse with bloodshot eyes suddenly flashes on the screen. The scare lasts for about 3 seconds before the video abruptly cuts to black.

Jingle Bells Reversed was a screamer Flash animation created by Daniel Fowler and was originally found on Newgrounds in 2004.
