In the video, two men are seen performing genital self-mutilation (including using a meat cleaver) set to the song "Livin' Like a Zombie" by Mortification. The original video, hosted on BMEzine, displays a message at the end confirming it is fake; however, most of the other versions of the video on other [[websites]] do not have that message at the end. According to Shannon Larratt, the creator of the video, the two "competitors" used prosthetic makeup, and the video contains no actual body modification.

The creator of BME was born on September 29th, 1973 and died from a rare genetic muscular, degenerative disease (presumably tubular aggregate myopathy) on March 15th, 2013 in Toronto, Canada, aged 39.[1][2]

It was later confirmed by Larratt that the first installment was faked, but all the other sequels are 100% real. The promotional sequels were linked on Shannon's blog and can be downloaded and viewed from the blog's video section alongside other videos of extreme body modification. BME's website wiki says that the company held its first "BMEfest 2003" in Tweed, Ontario, Canada, where the first Pain Olympics took place. Some of the events included drinking hot sauce, forehead pulling, and seeing how much weight one can carry on a suspension. The event would be an annual one until 2008.[3]

BME Pain Olympics: Final Round (2007)

BME Pain Olympics: Final Round is a shock video shot on a VHS camcorder, depicting two men (actually the same person) graphically mutilating their genitals, with one man cutting off his penis with a meat cleaver and another man cutting and slicing open his penis. The song playing in the background in the video is Livin' Like A Zombie by Christian death metal band Mortification.

On January 22nd, 2012, Shannon Larratt responded to a request from the AMA that was aimed at speaking to contestants to confirm that the video was a hoax due to the use of prosthetic makeup, red substances, and sex toys. However, he confirmed that the associated BMEvideo trailers were "entirely real and possibly contain more extreme footage".

BMEvideo VHS Trailer (1997)

The first trailer of BME's promotional videos. It can only be seen on the old BME video website or from its original VHS tape. The video starts with a text that says "Things you never thought possible" to quickly switch between the BMEzine logo and the letters BME in red colour, after that, it shows images of open penises, a sewn vagina, a pierced clitoris, multiple images of gaping and pierced tongues, a penis stabbed with syringe needles, a clip of a man sticking his testicles into a table, a pierced uvula, and a man holding a severed pair of testicles. The music that is heard during the images is Pnoom (Moon up mix) by the German experimental rock band Can.

BMEvideo Trailer 1 (2005)

BMEvideo Trailer 1 or BME Pain Olympics 2 (sometimes mislabeled as BME Pain Olympics 3) was made in the summer of 2005 and was one of four authentic cock and ball torture videos labeled as BME Pain Olympics. These videos were made to promote the BMEvideo website, which has now been merged into the main BME website, and feature excerpts from videos that were uploaded to the site. The videos also had the notoriety of playing music over the haunting clips. The participants performing these haunting activities and acts are presumably professionals. The music playing in the video this time was the first two tracks (04/01/05 and 04/02/05) from the experimental rock album Suspended Animation by supergroup Fantômas.

The video starts with a man stretching his anus (synchronized with the opening voice) to open it, a penis ejaculating, a man pushing a long spike through his gut, a man showing off and masturbating an enlarged, silicone-injected penis (an object that looks like a pickle or cucumber can be seen inside the meatus), ants crawling and biting into a man's genitals, a clip removing meat stapled from a man's arm, a man inflating and deflating his foreskin, a man hitting his penis with a hammer, a man being lifted off the ground by his scrotum, an old man pushing a butter knife up his urethra, a man pulling a nail out of his urethra, a man shoving AA batteries into his urethra, a man stapling his foreskin with a stapler, a closeup shot of enlarged and swollen nipples, a man inhaling a cigarette out on his penis, a man cracking his urethra with a soldering iron, and a man rubbing his genitals against a cactus. This video ends with a penis with an earring ejaculating.

BMEvideo Trailer 2 (2005)

BMEvideo Trailer 2 is the second of Larratt's authentic promotional videos. The song playing in this video is a 1968 psychedelic rock instrumental called "Crazy Circus," which was made by the group Les Maledictus Sound. The video can be found on PornHub, and a download link on Shannon Larratt's blog zentastic.

The video starts with an act of anal prolapse, a man hitting his penis with a hammer, a man inserting blue plastic tubing down his urethra, a man's anus stretched open with a speculum, nipple knifing, forceps being pushed into man's nipple, a mistress inserting needles in a man's penis, trapped between a breadboard, with bloodplay, self-castration with a burdizzo, a man defecating out a football and inserting a huge dildo up his anus, a mistress pushing needles down a man's testicles and a big spray of fluid comes out, a man inflating his penis, a man inserting small fireworks in his urethra and lights them, a pickaxe through a man's testicles, a man inserting another man's penis inside his mouth, and a man masturbating an enlarged penis both in the woods and on a beach. The video ends with a man pressing his anus repeatedly.

BMEvideo Trailer 3 (2005)

BMEvideo Trailer 3 was the third and is often mistaken to be the last or even the first of the Larrat's authentic promotional videos. The music playing in the video is a cover of Destiny's Child's Survivor which was recorded by the band Knockout for the album Punk Goes Pop. It is also known as Spankwire due to being posted to the now-defunct porn site Spankwire.com under the title "One of the Scariest videos out there, Mature" in 2005, although it was eventually removed in 2011 after accumulating over 3 million views.

The video starts with a man with a dildo between his testicles, a man standing, a man lighting firecrackers in his urethra, a man ripping off the bottom of his penis with scissors, a man pushing his penis down a vacuum hose, a man with wasps crawling on his penis, a man's open penis (presumably poking it), a woman's vagina being stretched by a homemade machine, a man cutting the skin of his penis and pushing up his testicle, BB balls coming out of a man's urethra, a man masturbating while his penis burns, a man cutting off the tip of his middle finger, a man without genitals (who wears a black cap) sitting in the bathtub rubbing his genitalia area, a tightly bound penis stabbed with fishhooks, a close-up of the head of an open penis, a mistress inserting needles into the testicles of a man (who looks like a sea urchin or Pokémon Weezing), and a man with a flattened penis and a penis without a glans but with a foreskin. The video ends with the naked woman hanging earlier from a tree alive, while a man circles her, making movements that seem absurd.

BMEvideo Trailer 4 (2006)

The latest and darkest trailer for BMEvideo was released by Larratt in the summer of 2006. Many people think that this is the worst. The song played in the video is Estilo Do Ghetto by Brazilian rapper "BlackAlien" (BlackAlien). Initially, it was uploaded to Larratt's "MODBlog", but the video was not viewable due to the discontinuation of Adobe Flash Player, even if you installed the Ruffle extension. As mentioned above, this is a very rare discovery. Until recently, it had no contact with its surface. The video can only be found and work on the Russian social networking site VK.

The video starts with a man pressing a lit cigarette into his testicles, a man using burdizzo to castrate himself, large testicles in a pumping device, a man inserting a prince's wand into his urethra, a very quick shot of a pumped nipple, a man inserting a toothbrush into his urethra, a man nailing a syringe needle into his penis and blood sprays as he removes it, a man inserts a catheter into his urethra and ejaculates, syringe needles pulled from a penis creating a large puddle of blood, a weight being lifted by a man’s nipples, ejaculations using electrostimulation, a closeup of a prolapsed anus, an urethra being opened using a laser, a nailed penis being branded by a paper clip, nipple torture using needles, heavy gauge skewers in a man’s testicles, a frozen nipple being cut off with a chisel, a man lifting a six pack of water bottles with his scrotrum, a woman stroking a penis with a Prince Albert piercing, a man pouring molten wax into his urethra, a large dildo coming out of a man’s anus, and a man electrostiming his penis with electrodes and a shot glass. The video ends with a death threat email Shannon Larratt received.

Falsely attributed video

A compilation of poorly-recorded videos of men cutting sausages made to mimic their penises was hosted on the site painolympics.info and painolympics.org under the title "BME PAIN OLYMPICS III", although it was given the thumbnail of the introduction to BME Final Round. The music playing during the video is Fucking Hostile by Pantera.

Magic Cross Piercing

The Magic Cross Piercing is a male genital piercing in which two bars with pallang and an apadravya are pierced through the head of the penis, forming the shape of a cross. The Magic Cross Piercing went viral on TikTok in May 2025 following a Don't Google trend in which TikTokers told each other not to look up "Magic Cross Piercing" on TikTok or Google. The shock media trend led to memes and video skits about the Magic Cross Piercing in subsequent days.

Spread

In 2007, a hoax internet viral video entitled "BME Pain Olympics: Final Round," which is not associated with the BME Pain Olympics, spread in popularity as a result of a series of reaction videos. It has been viewed and promoted by a large number of web surfers and popular bloggers such as comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan, and has been the subject of reaction videos on sites including YouTube. In the video, two men are seen performing genital self-mutilation (including using a meat cleaver) set to the song "Livin' Like a Zombie" by Mortification. The original video, hosted on BMEzine, displays a message at the end confirming it is fake; however, most of the other versions of the video on other websites do not have that message at the end. According to Shannon Larratt, the creator of the video, the two "competitors" used prosthetic makeup, and the video contains no actual body modification.

That year, people also began posting parodies of the video using hot dogs and other phallic objects. On November 28th, 2007, a YouTuber gabrockstar posted a version that received more than 2 million views
