The incident took place in an apartment in Montreal, Canada. Magnotta fled to Paris after uploading the video to [[Bestgore]], sparking an international manhunt. He was finally apprehended at an internet cafe in Berlin and charged with one count of first-degree murder on December 23, 2014.
