3 Orangutans 1 Blender is a nonexistent shock video that has many fake reactions to it on YouTube. All of these videos contain the same soundtrack, consisting of stock ape noises (which do not resemble orangutans) and blender sounds over strange techno-style music.

Origin

On January 25th, 2008, YouTube user Persephone Rose published "3 Orangutans 1 Blender REACTION VIDEO!!," Inside the clip, Rose "reacts" to a video sent by a friend with the name of Ian, claiming within the description under the video that the footage surpassed the infamy of 2 Girls 1 Cup and of the BME Pain Olympics:

Shortly after that, on March 8th, 2008, a creator by the name of Damonico released a video with a theme like it. These uploads capitalized upon the trend of extreme shock videos leading to numerous other YouTubers producing fake reactions toward the non-existent video for views. Then the cycle continues from here.

A comment by user Roberto Martinez found in this particular reaction (which has since been removed) describes the potential contents of the shock video. To summarize:

“	3 Orangutans 1 Blender is set in a jungle, at a camp with trucks, cabins, a giant building, and lots of men working at it, where a large group of men, of apparent Indian/South American descent, wearing yellow and green camouflage with a strange symbol indicating they are part of some terrorist group or some unknown cult. They walk into a building and take out a number of abused, caged orangutans from a giant shelf. The men also had tattoos and were shirtless as well. It has caused people who watched the video to have seizures, permanent nightmares, or commit suicide. Once they take the animals out of the building, they proceed to hurt them with knives and machetes and cover them in substances such as bleach and possibly lemon juice to aggravate their pain as they screech from it. After this, the titular "blender"-like machine appears, described as something very similar to a giant version of an Animal Waste Shredder, but it is rather tall, black-colored to look more menacing, and had a balcony with a metal bridge connecting to the other side of it, with human remains being seen inside of it. 6 orangutans are thrown into this shredder, with further bleach and lemon juice poured onto them as their agony progresses and they die. At one point the men turn off the machine to commit a number of other highly obscene, disturbing acts such as defecating on their corpses from the metal bridge above, cutting off their own limbs into the shredder, and throwing their weapons and even human remains and clothes into it as well before they turn it back on. Some orangutans survived while some are still alive still screeching in agony, as well as it being a bloodbath of other things as well. Eventually, a ski-masked, fat man appears and walks into the giant shredder with a chainsaw to kill whichever orangutans are still surviving. The final section of the video consists of the men taking the last three remaining orangutans and feeding them to three tigers which eat their penises until they throw them into the pen, and then they take one man and feed him to the tiger along with them in the same pen, and they film his demise as much as the hurt orangutans, after performing the same actions on these 3 orangutans as they did with the previous ones, the men now have no limbs at all, and they take their remains and throw them into the shredder, where the video ends.	”

The comment of the user also implies about the video being as a part of a larger, 3-hour version of the film, with the men and along with the orangutans appearing within the video being counted up to 97 and beside 19 orangutans, and concerning the fact that the video was actually made by means of a home video camera during and between the 80s and through the 90s, but the video wasn’t published until sometime around 2006 at somewhere, possibly upon the dark web.

The user then finally warns to the viewer against the viewing of the footage. There is another rumor from sources claiming about the video as not being so shocking, and it just being by someone preparing of a smoothie for a group of orangutans inside of a kitchen and then them being over-excited about it within their reactions respectively. Finally, another rumor among people claims that the audio file is all of what there is across the web, and the video itself doesn't exist beyond the imagination.

Through the course of the following years, YouTubers like chimonster7 and theaterrate57 continued the mystery by the posting of their own "reactions" which led to questions about its authenticity on Reddit. Public discourse remains split between sides: some users search with desperation for the footage, some claim to have looked at it from memory, and others dismiss it entirely as a hoax of the internet.

Interest in the legend saw a massive resurgence on November 21, 2019, at the time when the now-deleted channel Unus Annus (Markiplier and CrankGameplays) mentioned the title during the researching of 2 Girls 1 Cup. While the duo didn’t go into further investigation past the name, their research notably suggests that "3 Orangutans" title was a direct parody of the original 2 Girls 1 Cup. (Obviously, we're not gonna link the Unus Annus one for obvious reasons.)

Media outlets like SCREENSHOT Media have since used the case as a primary example of "fake" shock sites, noting to the public that the only "proof" of the clip’s existence is a collection of reaction videos in which viewers are left with nothing but vague audio in the background for the "guidance" of their imagination.

Debunking theories

• An adult male orangutan can weigh up to 200 lbs (90 kg) and stand over 4 feet tall. Even a baby orangutan is significantly larger than a household blender. While the creepypasta story tries to fix this by claiming they built a "giant industrial shredder" the original rumor specifically used the word "blender," which makes the premise physically impossible.
• Most among the people with claims of having "seen" the video are actually describing a hoax of low-effort. They take stock footage from documentaries of orangutans swinging between trees and layer it with sound effects from a generic kitchen blender.
• There are no reports from police or articles in legitimate news from any year confirming of such an event. The only places for this discussion are on horror forums and on reaction channels through YouTube.
• There are no recorded cases of anyone committing suicide or with a seizure from the watching of any kind of shock video of that sort. (seriously, do you have to know?)

3 Orangutans 1 Blender: The Story of the Most Vile Video on the Internet

A creepypasta based off of the shock site was published onto Trollpasta Wiki, under the name 3 Orangutans 1 Blender: The Story of the Most Vile Video on the Internet by Galaroco on February 4th, 2021, which includes tropes related to cults and concerning sadism that took place within Indonesia.

The story moves along the life of a narrator born into the Placemasters, a cult from the 1980s led by drug-dealing parents. After a childhood under the weight of ritualistic sacrifice and during a vengeful double-murder of a chef on a ship, the narrator falls into a state of total sadism, claiming to the world that "death is like a warm cup of tea." With the use of a multi-million dollar inheritance, they moved toward the founding of Agkolk, a modern cult for the merging of ancient blood rites with the production of snuff films.

From a base within an Indonesian jungle, they look over a "pay-to-watch" website featuring everything from cruelty against monkeys to the shredding of their own members inside industrial machines. Built upon a foundation of "mercy-less freedom" the cult reaches out to recruits through psychological testing, only to throw them into the machinery at the end. The narrator sits above this carnage with a twisted sense of peace, waiting for the day of their own sacrifice within the "masterpiece" created by their own hands.
