Flappy Bird was an innocuous Scratch project created by user "kingliam3" on January 31st, 2014, based on the mobile game with the same name. On November 18th, 2021, however, a user on 4chan, known as "Armus", password guessed kingliam's account and the game to display Ronnie McNutt's suicide livestream when the player dies. A Scratch reupload of it was played by SleepyWaterCow, further boosting the popularity of the game.[1]
Description
This Scratch project is a port of the original iOS and Android versions of the now-removed video game Flappy Bird. However, there are now two game modes: "Normal" and "Impossible". "Impossible" alters the color pattern, and increases the game's speed. Losing the game, regardless of the game mode, shows a looping GIF of Ronnie McNutt blowing his face, and plays a clip of the song "Ruler of Everything" by Tally Hall, beginning with the lyrics "So he shot at the sun with a gun".

Hacking incident

On November 18, 2021, on 4chan's /b/ board, Armus announced that they, alongside "[their] friends", hacked into a large Scratch account that hosted a popular version of Flappy Bird.[2] The user specifically attempted to gather reaction from the press by encouraging readers to contact a multitude of news stations with the claim that the game always had shocking content in it. OP called this "Operation McNutt".

A Discord tag was also added the bottom of the page, Armus#1111, possibly to also receive players' reactions.
The night following the incident, the project was eventually removed by Scratch's administrators.
