Stare at the Dot! is a video created by Richard Wiseman, a renowned psychologist, for his Quirkology channel on YouTube.

The video features an intriguing inverted effect where Wiseman instructs the viewer to focus on his nose, and a blue dot suddenly appears on it. The video then switches to a grayscale effect. The idea is that a positive color afterimage will overlap with the black and white part of the video, making it look like itโ€™s in color.

In the original, Wiseman actually reassures the audience that there will be no screamers, and there arenโ€™t. However, a modified version titled "Stare at the Dot on His Nose" was uploaded by Jacob Laggard in 2018, which does contain a screamer. The thumbnail features a screencap of Thomas' shocked face from the popular children's show 'Thomas and Friends' on Wiseman's nose. After 30 seconds, a picture of a dog appears, followed by a loud scream and special effects.
