'''Internet Explorer.exe''' was a [[shock site]] [[game]] created and published by MattTheGameMaker on [[GameJolt|Game Jolt]] in 2015.

==Gameplay==
Hitomiharassment was originally hosted on Neocities web hosting service in 2024. Before being removed from the service at a later date, it was at one point unexpectedly replaced with a redirect to the .zoy mirror of Last Measure. The .zoy mirror was created by one of its members Sam Hecovar.

The game opens to an ''[[wikipedia:Internet Explorer|Internet Explorer]]'' homepage from 2015. The moment the player tries to type into the fake search bar, an image of a decomposing, diseased cow pops onto the screen. Below it are images of self-harm, such as wrist cutting, alongside other images that reference or imply it. A loud, clipping noise begins playing in the background. As the sound abruptly cuts out, ominous red text flashes: "SO..." followed quickly by another message above it: "I HEARD YOU LIKE RESEARCHING!" Before the player can react, a color-inverted image of a [[wikipedia:September 11 attacks|9/11]] jumper's corpse rapidly strobe-flashes on the screen. Eventually, a distorted humanoid arm lunges forward, shattering the glass before the screen dissolves into white noise, abruptly ending the game.

''Internet Explorer 2.exe'' serves as a sequel to ''Internet Explorer.exe'', though its exact release date remains unknown.

The program initially displays a mock-up of a ''[[wikipedia:Microsoft Windows|Microsoft Windows]]'' desktop. It presents a crudely drawn landscape as the wallpaper, featuring an ''[[wikipedia:Internet Explorer|Internet Explorer]]'' icon. Clicking the browser reveals a homepage with news articles and stock images seemingly cut off from the first game.

Once a search query is entered, the results page loads, showing a search input for "yourself" alongside corresponding images. After a short while, two red, rotating disks resembling eyes appear, accompanied by a loud scream. The screen cuts to black briefly before displaying a gruesome image of a person lying down with a disfigured face, revealing the inside of their head (similar to [[Cherrycake.org]]). Finally, the screen cuts to black once more, flashing the player's screen name in red as the program deletes itself from the desktop and ends the game.
The opening webpage features a title and text that reads "Click Enter." When hovered over, the image covers the entire section and is designed to be clickable. In the source code, this particular image has Islamophobic and kaomoji text embedded within it, reading:

"''terrorist act middle east terrorism terrorist hunting permit ctu edu september 11 terrorist terrorist handbook (=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)''"

''Hiatus.exe'' features a play button and black screen text reading:

The site's source code was clearly taken from another shock site called blacklivesmatterin.cf. It features barely any changes, save for a few Japanese texts encoded within it, such as:

"''This is a big game... With a loading screen!''"
*''ひとみハラスメント。虐待を許しません'' ("Hitomi Harassment. We do not tolerate abuse")
*''メンヘラ嫌味の鬼才'' ("A genius at snide remarks—with a touch of 'menhera' instability")
*''メンヘラ'' ("Menhera" / emotionally unstable/attention-seeking)
*''ひとみハラスメント'' ("Hitomi harassment" / eye-contact harassment)

After clicking the play button, the screen changes into a loading screen. After a few seconds of "loading" in, it opens a web browser and redirects the user to the original webpage of [[Anne.jpg]]. A short while later, another website opens, linking the user to a Photobucket page from a user named Hypercomp01, featuring an image collection of people in vehicle accidents.<ref>s39.photobucket.com/user/Hypercomp01</ref>
Aside from this, the original text source contains a large amount of unused and broken JavaScript, such as functions that are never properly executed (<code>creationsystem()</code>, <code>moveWindowWithWowEffect()</code>, etc.), loading improper audio arrays (such as <code>HEY.html)</code>, and event handlers that rely on non-existent or incorrectly referenced elements. As a result, large portions of the script effectively do not run.

Hitomi.gif is the animated GIF that plays when the user clicks the button. It plays an epilepsy-inducing strobe-flash loop of shocking imagery, including an infamous photograph of Goatse, screenshots of beheading videos, an infant with harlequin-type ichthyosis, road accidents, and other disturbing medical photographs. Due to its flashing of inverted and normal colors, it matches the aesthetic of Kekma.net indirectly. The GIF was intended to play in the background while also being programmed to download onto the user's computer without their consent. Had the user not permitted the website to download multiple files, a feature disabled by default, it would not have occurred instantly.

''Nothing is going to hurt you.exe'' was another [[shock site]] [[game]] by MattTheGameMaker, released on an unknown date.

After opening the game, two red lines of text appear across a black screen, forming a full sentence that reads: "''Shhh... Relax. Nothing is going to hurt ye<nowiki>'</nowiki>'' <nowiki>[</nowiki>[[wikipedia:Sic|sic]]<nowiki>]</nowiki>". Almost instantly, the web browser forcibly opens and redirects the player to [[2 Kids 1 Sandbox]]. After closing out the window, the game suddenly opens another one, which features an edited image of Mr. Bean with no eyes and blood splattered all over his face, before ending with a redirect to [[Anne.jpg]].

''VirusInstaller.exe'' was the last [[shock site]] [[game]] created by TheMattGameMaker.

The game actually begins with 2D scrolling gameplay. The player controls a blocky figure who is barely visible through animated screen static and surrounded by white noise. They are forced to walk forward until they encounter a tall figure who appears to be none other than [[Matt.exe]]. Upon getting close to him, the screen fades to black, and two circles resembling eyes begin spinning and shaking in a continuous loop. A line of red text appears, reading: "''You like to watch other people die in the 'game,' don't you?''" followed by, "''For me, it's the opposite.''" Shortly afterward, an image of a corpse suddenly appears on screen. A few seconds later, large, moving red text appears over the image, reading "It's time to die," before the game abruptly closes.

==Trivia==
*Contrary to popular belief, the homepage for ''Internet Explorer.exe'' is actually believed to be from ''[[wikipedia:Microsoft Edge|Microsoft Edge]]''.
*MattTheGameMaker created and released most of his games featuring gore and pornography, but a few years later, he deleted them (along with Internet Explorer and its sequel) out of remorse.
:*"''Also, my games used to contain really disturbing real-life imagery stuff, don't bring that stuff here, and if you have it uploaded on [[YouTube]], delete it. The only things that come out of that is guilt, regret and genuine trauma. I'm starting fresh, and better this time. (I do NOT encourage you to put real life disturbing imagery in your games - Don't EVER do this!)''"
*Due to a coding error in ''Internet Explorer 2.exe'', an Apple logo suddenly flashes a split second after clicking the icon.

History

Hitomiharassment was originally hosted on Neocities web hosting service in 2024. Before being removed from the service at a later date, it was at one point unexpectedly replaced with a redirect to the .zoy mirror of Last Measure. The .zoy mirror was created by one of its members Sam Hecovar.

An anonymous user, allegedly the owner of hitomiharassment, commented as Kcaplund on the now-deleted Matsuyama Dokuhara article. The commentor reveals the website's true purpose is to target unspecified animal abuse groups with shock imagery.

Content

The opening webpage features a title and text that reads "Click Enter." When hovered over, the image covers the entire section and is designed to be clickable. In the source code, this particular image has Islamophobic and kaomoji text embedded within it, reading:

"terrorist act middle east terrorism terrorist hunting permit ctu edu september 11 terrorist terrorist handbook (=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)(=^・^=)"

Once clicked, the button triggers a montage of pornographic and gore content, including the following events:

  1. The entire background of the website changes to Hitomi.gif.
  2. It opens browser windows to blacklivesmatterin.cf and its subpage blacklivesmatterin.cf/test.html. These pages also open multiple browser windows to other shock videos sourced from a dead Discord link.
  3. It plays an overlapping mix of electronic music and loud, disturbing sounds named V.mp3, 1.mp3, and wooo.mp3.
  4. While this is running, the user is automatically logged out of social media platforms whitelisted in the source code, including Google, Twitter, LiveJournal, and MySpace.

The site's source code was clearly taken from another shock site called blacklivesmatterin.cf. It features barely any changes, save for a few Japanese texts encoded within it, such as:

  • ひとみハラスメント。虐待を許しません ("Hitomi Harassment. We do not tolerate abuse")
  • メンヘラ嫌味の鬼才 ("A genius at snide remarks—with a touch of 'menhera' instability")
  • メンヘラ ("Menhera" / emotionally unstable/attention-seeking)
  • ひとみハラスメント ("Hitomi harassment" / eye-contact harassment)

Aside from this, the original text source contains a large amount of unused and broken JavaScript, such as functions that are never properly executed (creationsystem(), moveWindowWithWowEffect(), etc.), loading improper audio arrays (such as HEY.html), and event handlers that rely on non-existent or incorrectly referenced elements. As a result, large portions of the script effectively do not run.

hitomi.gif
