kyoufu.html
Don't Find Waldo (ウォーリーを探さないで 画面クリックでスタート BGMが流れます)
- Main Article: Where's Waldo?
An embed of Where's Waldo? on the Japanese news website office-will.com.[1]
Below the screamer, the site features a link titled "Don't Look for Wally Mirror → Click here," (「ウォーリーを探さないで」ミラー→こちら) which lures them to a second message: "Don't look for Wally; BGM will be playing, so please turn on the sound and enjoy♪" (ウォーリーを探さないで BGMが流れるので音を出してお楽しみください♪) Despite this premise, investigating the source code reveals no actual audio file; leaving it to be just a static blank page, but though seriously, assuming it could be simply just a Circus theme which plays matches to the similar theme and tune of amusement parks, like the one found from SuperLaugh version.[2]
Although the game was originally uploaded to Newgrounds two months prior, it is often misattributed to this obscure link office-will.com and most Japanese users would just simply visit there without notice; which might indirectly suggested the hypothesis that Where's Waldo is one of the most popular screamers in early internet Japanese community.
Kikia
- Main Article: Kikia
This link redirects to Kikia from the German flash collection dopey.de instead of Netspooky's main website,[3] where it was captioned: "Turn it up LOAAUUUUT, only then will it be cool - really!" (LAAAUUUUT aufdrehn, nur dann isses geil - wirklich!) [4]
The site's directory also hosted numerous files such as whatswrong.swf, sajjadali.swf, and illusion.swf (a variant of Focus), all of which are immediate giveaways that these are already existing screamers.[4]
Psychic Photograph (心霊写真) (はなこ)
The "shi.html" page displays a photo beneath a line of Japanese text which reads:
いわゆる心霊写真というやつです.
やや写真が小さいのが残念ですが、
よくよく見ると、写真奥の入り口の辺に奇怪なものが写っています.
気付いたら自分はマジで悲鳴が出てしまいました.
It's called a ghost photo
Unfortunately, the photo is a little small
If you look closely, you can see something strange near the entrance at the back of the photo
Before I knew it, I was seriously screaming
Unfortunately, this specific "ghost photo" does not load in the Wayback Machine, but its given effect likely resembles the images found in When you see it. The website credits the work to Hanako.[5]
