Stare at the Dot! is a video created by Richard Wiseman, a renowned psychologist, for his Quirkology channel on YouTube.
The video features an intriguing inverted effect where Wiseman instructs the viewer to focus on his nose, and a blue dot suddenly appears on it. However, just as Wiseman reassures the audience that there will be no scary sounds or screams, the video switches to a grayscale effect.
The original version of the video is approximately one minute long and does not contain any screamer. However, a modified version titled "Stare at the Dot on His Nose" was uploaded by Jacob Laggard in 2018. The thumbnail features a screencap of Thomas' shocked face from the popular children's show 'Thomas and Friends' on Wiseman's nose. After 30 seconds, a picture of a dog appears, followed by a loud scream and special effects.
