Unsafe Stimboards are a bait-and-switch trend of screamers and shock videos on TikTok, similar to Fake Fancams. Primarily, most of the videos of this category show a seemingly innocent stimboard, which then switches to a screamer, graphic content, or other disturbing imagery within a few seconds.

Background

Stimboards, also known as busy boards, are animated sensory boards intended to induce pleasure within the viewer. They center around one topic, media, character or color, and typically contain a grid of images corresponding to said categories. Creators also added labels, "safe/srs" or "unsafe/srs", between safe stimboards and unsafe stimboards. Stimboards notably became viral on TikTok from 2022 to 2023; However, the origins of the unsafe variations remain unclear.
