Internet Explorer.exe is a screamer game created by MattTheGameMaker in 2015.
Internet Explorer.exe was a shock site game created and published by MattTheGameMaker on Game Jolt in 2015.

The game itself has a screenshot of Internet Explorer. When attempting to type in the fake search bar, an image of a dead cow pops up along with a startling sound, and then reversed audio starts playing. The music then stops playing, and red text saying "SO..." appears. After that, another red text saying "I HEARD YOU LIKE RESEARCHING!" appears. An inverted image of a 9/11 jumper's corpse starts flashing on the screen. A humanoid figure's arm then shows up with a loud scream before switching to static.

The game opens to an Internet Explorer homepage from 2015. The moment the player tries to type into the fake search bar, an image of a decomposing, diseased cow pops onto the screen. Below it are images of self-harm, such as wrist cutting, alongside other images that reference or imply it. A loud, clipping noise begins playing in the background. As the sound abruptly cuts out, ominous red text flashes: "SO..." followed quickly by another message above it: "I HEARD YOU LIKE RESEARCHING!" Before the player can react, a color-inverted image of a 9/11 jumper's corpse rapidly strobe-flashes on the screen. Eventually, a distorted humanoid arm lunges forward, shattering the glass before the screen dissolves into white noise, abruptly ending the game.

Internet Explorer.exe was a shock site game created and published by MattTheGameMaker on Game Jolt in 2015.

Gameplay

The low quality homepage

Internet Explorer 2.exe

Desktop screen
An icon design for Internet Explorer 2.exe.

Internet Explorer 2.exe serves as a sequel to Internet Explorer.exe, though its exact release date remains unknown.

The program initially displays a mock-up of a Microsoft Windows desktop. It presents a crudely drawn landscape as the wallpaper, featuring an Internet Explorer icon. Clicking the browser reveals a homepage with news articles and stock images seemingly cut off from the first game.

Once a search query is entered, the results page loads, showing a search input for "yourself" alongside corresponding images. After a short while, two red, rotating disks resembling eyes appear, accompanied by a loud scream. The screen cuts to black briefly before displaying a gruesome image of a corpse lying down with a disfigured face, revealing the inside of their head (similar to Cherrycake.org). Finally, the screen cuts to black once more, flashing the player's screen name in red, before the program deletes itself from the desktop and ends the game.

Hiatus.exe

Opening menu screen of Hiatus.exe.

Hiatus.exe was a continuation of shock site-related games similar to Internet Explorer.exe.

Upon accessing, it leads to a play button and black screen text reading:

"Sorry for being on hiatus for quite a while... School has been getting in my way. Lots of stuff [sic] have been getting in my way."

Another line of text, located above the play button, reads:

"This is a big game... With a loading screen!"

After clicking the play button, the screen changes into a loading screen. A web browser unexpectedly opens and redirects the player to Anne.jpg. A short while later, another website pops up, linking the user to a Photobucket page from a user named Hypercomp01, featuring an image collection of aftermath in road accidents.[1]

Nothing is going to hurt you.exe

A black screen message upon launch.

Nothing is going to hurt you.exe was another shock site game by MattTheGameMaker, released on an unknown date.

After opening the game, two red lines of text appear across a black screen, forming a full sentence that reads: "Shhh... Relax. Nothing is going to hurt ye' [sic]". Almost instantly, the web browser forcibly opens and redirects the player to 2 Kids 1 Sandbox. After closing out the window, the game suddenly opens another one, which features an image of Mr. Bean with no eyes and blood splattered all over his face, before ending with a redirect to Anne.jpg.

Virusinstaller.exe (also known as Trapped.exe) was considered the last shock site game created by TheMattGameMaker.

It begins with 2D scrolling gameplay. The player controls a blocky figure who is barely visible through animated screen static and surrounded by white noise. They are forced to walk forward until they encounter a tall figure who appears to be none other than Matt.exe. Upon getting close to him, the screen fades to black, and two circles resembling eyes begin spinning and shaking in a continuous loop motion. A line of red text appears, reading: "You like to watch other people die in the 'game,' don't you?" followed by, "For me, it's the opposite." Shortly afterward, an image of a corpse suddenly appears on screen. A few seconds later, large, moving red text appears over the image, reading "ITS TIME TO DIE" before the game abruptly closes.

Trivia

 • Internet Explorer.exe notoriously inspired Google.exe, which was released a year later.
 • MattTheGameMaker created and released most of his games featuring gore and pornography, but a few years later, he deleted them (along with Internet Explorer and its sequel) out of remorse.
 • "Also, my games used to contain really disturbing real-life imagery stuff, don't bring that stuff here, and if you have it uploaded on YouTube, delete it. The only things that come out of that is guilt, regret and genuine trauma. I'm starting fresh, and better this time. (I do NOT encourage you to put real life disturbing imagery in your games - Don't EVER do this!)"
 • Due to a coding error in Internet Explorer 2.exe, an Apple logo suddenly flashes a split second after clicking the icon.
